kek, in Spain it happens the same and bears are now so protected they are becoming a problem for humans again in mountain regions like Cantabria, not long ago a brown bear almost kills an old lady in her own home.

The problem with wolves is usually then getting into the farmers premises and getting into a killing spree just for eating a simple prey, just like a fox sneaking into a chicken coop.
