I believe all men should prove themselves and earn their stripes by working blue collar jobs in their early 20s

I believe we need to send men back to war. We need you all to start dying for king and country again
I was on a fishing boat for 6 months.
I fucking did, it was shit.
It's terrible for your health
chef/baker/cook for like 5 years
was pretty fun; repetitive so perfect for high-functioning autists
I did and while I don’t regret it, I ate like shit and did a bunch of drugs and my health suffered
I tried, they didn't want me.
I went back to construction 10 years later
fuck me I guess
to be fair I tried being a foreman, that didn't work out, I don't like working
No pussy
No work
Simple ass
I worked in a chemical plant and am now allergic to pollen
I did and now I have an office job in my late 20s. Saw too many old timers looking nearly broken by their 50s. It's still work and it sucks of course but at least I'm not breaking my back anymore.
I've been doing manual labor since I was 18, I'm 29 now
I've been thinking of switching career but now with AI and stuff around the corner I feel like nothing's safe, I will just keep going until my back breaks completely
I helped my father with home improvement, but sadly the closest I got was the soul crushing work in retail and food service. I think that's more common for the young these days. Would probably be far healthier mentally and physically to do blue collar labor than that shit.
Break your back and take orders from uneducated retards because...uh Andrew Tate said so!
The real answer is working semi-blue collar jobs (food service, roofing, cleaning, shit like that) in your mid-late teens when you're in high school/college. Being an oil roughneck or a pleb on an assemblyline involved following a real career path that takes a few years to develop and it'd be weird to give that up to go back to college.
Real hard labor positions don't hire kids working over the summer or who are attending school and need part time hours. They hire spics and rednecks ready to toil away for low wages in dangerous environments.
Real hard labor positions don't hire kids
They would if they could, who are you kidding.
Have fun, wagie. That second mortgage on your McHome doesn't pay itself, does it? I keep collecting NEETbux in the meantime.
I worked a few summers and weekends on a farm. It was decent but it would be tough to do that for the rest of my life
What the fuck are stripes? Like military rank stripes or what? Huh?
Silly.
But they can. The ones that do seasonal labor do. The ones that don't do seasonal labor do not. Plenty of kids doing work in detaseling, and projects for the local utility company.
What they aren't hired for is for supporting roles in trade jobs, or construction. The later likely being because construction is a fucking money laundering scheme in the US.
My dad is blue collar and a tradesman who can pretty much do everything, I’ve helped him out a lot but don’t feel that I’ve learned much which is a shame because this is supposed to be useful. It’s going to be grim if I ever have kids and their father is an office cuck.
Is land surveyor a blue collar job?
You could get into projection. (Projektering idk what they call it in english)
Guys who have exp in actually working in what they're drawing are universally better at it
Most stuff isn't really that hard, just try and you will learn along the way
I only lasted 20 minutes in a manual labor job.
I never understand what these people do
It's a european white person job. Based 100% european man.
They do in my country, and I'm not a spic plus I'm Jewish so I can't be a red kneck
I've been working as a welder for the last 10 years, where are my stripes
they can
Except they can't, at least not these days. Things like child labor laws get in the way of that.
At my work there was such a story that the management hired a dozen Uzbeks as welders, they had documents, permits and everything, except that when they were brought to work most of them looked as if they had seen a welding machine for the first time in their lives. Then the bosses started checking their documents and it turned out that they were all forgeries and they were deported.
meds
How fucking young do you want your workers? Here you can do detaseling at the age of 15, and the other at 16. All given parental permission that is, and with limited hours. Limited hours because you know, you still have school.
A north African person could NEVER do land surveying
I'm Siberian
Idg the hysteria around "child labour". When i was in high school i had friends who worked after school at super markets and stuff. They could buy all the weed and games they wanted. Meanwhile i had to go through the humiliation ritual of begging my mommy for 30$ at age 17
Lmao. He said the thing
You brought up "real hard labor" I'm sorry but coal mining is a little closer to "real hard labor" than detasseling (which you keep misspelling) is.
Child labor is good if it's well regulated and not 19th century style child slavery
can you study welding in an university in Russia?
They study it in a technical school I think
I see, it's the same here
I tried, they didn't want me.
most blue collar jobs are chill as. most things are mechanised or would be cheaper if they were. of course nothing beats an air conditioned office, especially considering half of office workers are doing basically nothing / could be automated.
i've done actual manual labour before for like 11 hours a day and it is horrible. if i were doing it alone i would give up. only not wanting to be a burden on the other guys helped me do it.
It's decided, I'll quit being a mason and go welding training school
