Croatia is a developed country and Poland is not

Why is Croatia a developed country but not Poland? Poland IS the better country in every metric.
The more you look into it, the more you feel confused.

I thought they were pretty close, with Poland being a little bit more developed

poland is 100% more developed than us
we used to be more developed than them 15 years ago but they surpassed us

I don't thank god

Just checked this right now and:
HDI: Poland wins
GDP Per Capita: Poland wins
GDP PPP Per Capita: Poland wins
Diversified Economy: Both are diversified but Poland wins because they depend less on vulnerable sectors like tourism.
Average salary: Poland wins
GDP growth: Tie
Expenditure on R&D: Poland wins
Services as % of GDP: Poland wins
EU membership: Both are part of the EU
What makes a country developed? You need to meet 3 criteria: IMF, UN and World Bank.
The UN and the World Bank views Poland as developed, but the difference with Croatia is that the IMF categorizes this country as an Advanced Economy and Poland as a developing economy.

IMF threshold for developed economies was 25k USD GDP per capita which Poland reached only this year

i mean croatia is by every metric better than all of its neighbors except slovenia and yes we do speak serbian kek

Where did you read this? I only knew that IMF doesn't publicly explain how they classify Advanced Economies.

doesn't publicly explain

it's the "trust us goyim" metric, where you bribe their side to get counted as real and cool.
remember the charts made of "the most well equipped to handle a pandemic" prior to covid?
italy was high on that list, so was the US. Boy oh boy, that didn't pan out did it.

Just because your president has Boric in his name, and because you don't have any good beaches below Iquique, doesn't mean you have to suck their dick at every turn.

I don't care about Croatia lol. I just think theres a big discrepancy here.

They and Czechs went from selling cheap electronics here in the 80s to being richer than us. Grim.
The war in the 90s really screwed us and our privatization was the worst out of all new EU members. Because so many of our companies and industries failed our governments are trying too hard to make tourism our only source of income which makes us even poorer (everything is more expensive, more imports etc)

Croatia is a sunny Poland with a warm coast and therefore better. The difference in weather makes a gigantic difference, stop overdosing on meme statistics.

Croatia is a paradise comparing to Poland, I wouldn't even have audacity to put them together

this + Croatia has much more accumulated capital from the last 1500 years when it was always richer and more civilized than Poland (closer to Roman Empire, Italy, Austria and so on)

Czechs and Poles always had better potential than us, they were just screwed over by the Russians who were taking all their money. Them becoming richer is a return to the default. Yugoslavia being better than Warsaw pact countries is boomer propaganda. Croatia recovered from the war by now and your economy is doing better than during Yugoslavia's existence

Croatia recovered

Most of Slavonia besides a few exceptions like Osijek never did

Yugoslavia being better than Warsaw pact countries is boomer propaganda.

That's not true, Yugoslavia was heaven on earth

Why would Croats invest in anything else but tourism if tourism is enough?
Even if Poles have slightly higher GDP per capita, still Poles have to work like slaves in factories and warehouses, destroy their spines and inhale toxic fumes
meanwhile Croats make the same amount of money renting out their coastal houses to Germans and just relaxing on the beach all day long

croatia is much much better than it was during the yugo times, i was in serbia bosnia and macedonia and the diffrence is stark, trash on the street, shitty roads people obsessed by the 90s and the wars (much more than here) rampant corruption and mafia taking everything salaries 1/2 if lucky of croatia, nihilism people dreaming of moving to germany or croatia kek
imagine if we had to give money to these subhuman turks like we did for 45 years

I am also dreaming of moving to Croatia

are you that pole obsessed with croatia and learning croatian?

What if I'm Croatian and I want to get a PhD in Computer Science but I don't want to be a professor at a university? My options are more limited than to my peers from other countries. In Germany or France someone like that could work in a top research facility and create actual innovations while in Croatia best you can do is be a project lead in some outsourcing software dev company in which case you'd be overqualified. Not everyone wsnts to make a living off of tourism nor should they. That's why Serbia still gets students from Montenegro despite Montenegro doing well

ovo sam inace ja brate moj

and I want to get a PhD in Computer Science but I don't want to be a professor at a university

huh? just pursue whatever degree you like for your own pleasure, you don't need to think about what is profitable or what can provide you a stable life because your family already has 3 houses on the coast (your dad built them with his savings from his 5-year-long gastarbaitering in Germany in the 1980s) you make money from

and you are brown

Why is Croatia a developed country but not Poland?

where did you get that info from?

Poland doesn't have euro as a currency

accumulated capital

Roman Empire, Italy, Austria and so on

lmao, even the province of Illyria, despite being older than other provinces, remained the worst shithole in the Roman Empire. In Austria-Hungary, half of what is now Croatia was a designated permanent warzone with Wild West rules. To Venetians, the sole purpose of Dalmatia was keeping Turks out of the Adriatic.

Slavonia for example looks much more abandoned than Vojvodina. Vojvodina looks like ass but at least they have way more agriculture going on. If we had the same level of that in Slavonia, Croatia wouldn't need to import most of its food.

remained the worst shithole in the Roman Empire.

...which is still like 10 levels above anything that was not part of the Roman Empire, like Poland

most of the people i know dont work in tourism and they have 1000+ euro salaries, is it the same in serbia?
there is a reason why serbs go to croatia to work and not the other way around
you forget that tourism stimulates a lot of other industries

i agree with you, but there was no war in vojvodina and serbs do not have eu passports so its harder to leave
subotica still looks like iraq compared to vukovar or vinkovci I know because i was there

Kajkavia looks better than anything in Poland, it's Slovenia-lite
Slavonia is quite similar to southern Poland
Dalmatia is a paradise incomparable to anything here

there are often polish comments on his songs kek

obviously, we love Yugo music, especially if it's about Poles

They have a city full of Croats called Punta Arenas. I wonder why Croats moved to a place with such an inhospitable climate in such great numbers. Peak Balkan herd mentality.

everyone says Poles are hateful but as you can see there are nations we love, like Croats <3

tfw your ancestors didn't depart from southern Poland to the Balkans in 614 so now you live in a grey and cold shithole instead of sunbathing on Krk island

why even live

They could have also ended surrounded by Turks in Bulgaria or by gypsies in Romania.

You could have ended up in Zagreb, a grey and hot shithole.

imagine if we had to give money to these subhuman turks

Yeah... Imagine that...

Zagreb is still more beautiful than any Polish city and im saying that unironically

Not using euro deflates they nominal gdp

There was canibalism in dalmatia in 19th century

Kajkavian lands are about the same as Slovakia and Poland, good but not as good as Slovenia. Slavonia is noticeably more balkan.

I was about to go to sleep thinking I wasted another day but now I'm happy I gave a Serb an opportunity to shit on Croatia

Kajkavian lands are about the same as Slovakia and Poland

you have no idea what you're saying bro, im a gsv pro and i can assure you northern Croatia feels like a Germanic country comparing to Poland

I've been to North Croatia and Southern Poland. They're about the same in everything from slavic phenotypes and architecture to being extremely trad Catholic drunks.
But North Croatia (Međimurje) has more gypsies which, along with them having the closest South Slavic dialect to Slovak, makes them literally Slovakia but south of Hungary.

Međimurje

Why are those cunts the way that they are
Is it the inbreeding or what
And I don't mean the gyppos

OP is probably talking about pic related. IMF's definition is a meme and it's from 2023 if I'm not mistaken. There's not a significant economic difference between Poland and Croatia. If anything Poland's peepeepee is a little larger, but IMF also uses a bunch of other criteria. If Croatia is first world then so is Poland. In reality we're not and neither are Portugal and Greece for example. The gap between us and countries like Austria is too big. Slovenia is arguably first world.

Like the Russki said, in 2023 Poland's GDP per capita was below $25k and that was one of the criteria. Don't read into it too much, all eastern EU member states are about the same.

yes saar we are economic tiger saar do not read data saar

Slovenia is arguably first world

arguably

Slovenia is a better place to live than most "first world" countries

Kys retard

There's not a significant economic difference between Poland and Croatia

Croats are way richer on average. You have these nice yugohouses in cities and beach houses too. And Zagreb is like 2x cheaper than Kraków.

It was a key strategic port before the Panama Canal was dug. Moving there was an iq 130 move.

Explains why everyone left here is 80 iq then

He didn't said we are tigers he said were about the same

There was similar drama about Slovakia-Poland like a year ago, because IMF considers Slovakia developed while Poland is not considered as one. And I found some articles with top IMF dudes admitting in interviews that the only reason post-commie countries are considered developed is because they have euro as a currency, and that alone according to IMF is good enough to change their status to developed even if they are not on every metric. He also added that if not for euro IMF would consider only Slovenia/Czechs developed from the post commie sphere.
