Brown atheists be like

fun fact: Malaysians, per the constitution cannot be atheists - you HAVE to profess a faith
funner fact: Malays, the ethnicity, per the constitution, are and always will be Muslims

Aren't Iranians really secular? They did some meme online poll and less than 50% were muslim.

It's just redditors who are detached from reality of their countries because they live in a big city university bubble. We have the same stuff here, every time they believe some progressive leftoid will win because "all my soy-drinking friends said they would vote him" and suddenly some conservative guy wins while their soycandidate occupies the last place and then suddenly

you HAVE to profess a faith

what faith do Chinese get ascribed to, if technically, Confucianism is not a faith/religion?

probably counted as religion for cope purposes

animals
Long are the days when Kemal Pasha have them hanged from Menemen to Diyarbakir.

so? that doesn't mean most of them are not muslim
don't tell me you actually believe that kek
they are out of touch with what the average person is really like and think everyone is like their gay friends

Buddhism

These retarded maps claim 65-80% of Swedes are Christian

what if they simply...aren't buddhists?

he never had anything against islam, you are thinking of cult leaders

Do you celebrate Christmas?

There are large christians chinese

He was too lenient on religion indeed, but he should have enacted communism. Just compare Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Large community*

oh, we actually do believe - how much and how little is irrelevant, folks still believe

i have a muslim friend, he's really set on the idea that alcohol isn't haram but being drunk is - so he says he can drink all he wants haha

ok but what if they are just "regular Chinese", you know, just like most Chinese are - they don't adhere to any particular religion, they just do their traditional stuff, pay tribute to their ancestors, listen to mantras that are supposed to make them rich and successful etc

he should have enacted communism

kys

and how are they wrong? not everyone is like your friend group, you know
it is false
we are better off than them though

a dumb argument i heard is that the percentage of people who practice "real islam" is really low, like 10% percent so we are ackshually 10% muslim and everyone else is just larping. yeah no. if they believe in Allah they are muslim.

I consider myself Buddhist. Traditional stuff you talking about is Buddhism.

Kharijite/Salafist take tbf
we sin, big deal
if one still has guilt in his heart, he will repent - and if he sins again and still has the guilt in his heart, he will repent again

human's aren't perfect beings, we make mistakes

I consider myself Buddhist.

Ok maybe Malaysian Chinese are like that but the Chinese (from China) I met in Europe didn't call themselves Buddhists, for them Buddhism was a comprehensive set of rules, prayers etc., they'd say that Thais are buddhists maybe, but not them, even though they did that "traditional" stuff but they just called it a tradition and not religion.

I celebrate Yule

Interesting, most mainland chinese I met are not religious. Definitely due to communism. Also, sometimes my family members would go to thai temple to get blessings and conduct prayers.

aiyo, Penang eh?

So for me to live in Malaysia, I have to say I believe in Amaterasu (Shinto)?

Shhhhh

are not religious.

exactly my point, they didn't see that as religion, they defined themselves as "irreligious", they just called it "tradition"

I meant atheist. Maybe they still practise some traditions but Buddhism in china has largely decreased.

Official record says percentage of Muslims fell from 70% to 69%

even funnier when people link a graph saying x muslim country is actually secular, and the data are online polls or reddit lol

A bit amusing seeing the near-perfect similarity in what "Buddhism" meant in the Chinese context compared to over here. I would've thought that Malaysian Chinese would be more educated in the finer distinction of eastern spiritualism since you lot are more "distinct", for a lack of better terms.

for foreigners, the rules might be more lenient

How is that wrong?

Unless you’re following dietary and clothing restrictions, as most religions command from their followers, I don’t consider you authentically religious.

do you really believe 1 in 2 of turks are not muslim? even 1 in 10 sounds unrealistic

Being religious has gone from fearing god to tradcath larping

Why the fuck is Suriname that Muslim??
