Does your country make cars?

I like mazdas

Does your country make cars?

It makes cars. That's what I can say. They're not good. Not TOO bad, but definitely not good.

If yes, haver you ever bought or considered buying foreign car brands?

I drive Nissan which my dad bought from Japan in 2006. I want to buy some used car from you too.

I fucking love mitsuoka
I will buy one someday

No idea but their cars are cool as hell

Looks like some restyled Lada. I wonder what would you cars looked like after the fell of gommunism, if the production wasn't shut down.

For some reason used cars in Japan in good quality are cheap as fuck
I don't even have 200k roubles in my bank account and I could buy 2 used cars in good condition in Japan right now

Based choice.

I don't even have 200k roubles in my bank account and I could buy 2 used cars in good condition in Japan right now

Like what? Or you meant if you would have been in Japan right now?
Because the tax when you import them even on your own name costs like x1.5 of the price of the car at the very least.

I'm ogling one right now in Aichi that's being sold for 30万 but with tickets and ferries and other shit it could come up to 40-45万 so idk what to do, buy cheap shit immediately and mitsuoka later or make do without a car for a year or less and then buy a mitsuoka

I mean if I was in Japan right now, I'm not counting the importing costs
A normal car with a valid inspection costs around 150k yen

We used to drive hondas, but Honda's quality went down dramatically within the last 20 years. Now we just drive Toyota and Lexus.

Our 10 year old lexus is the only car that never had a recall or any mechanical problems, while our new Toyota had 4 recalls already and a lot of small issues, such as doors not locking/unlocking, brake caliper pin getting rusty and shut.

We're only buying lexus now. However, I test drove a new lexus recently, and I noticed everything feels cheaper and more plastic than the old lexus models, ever since Lexus started to share a lot of parts with Toyota to save costs.

Nowadays i think only Agrale makes passenger vehicles at high volumes. But even still most of these are either bought by militaries or mining companies, with a handful being bought to normal use.

The continuous costs of owning a car in Japan usually make it undesirable to keep an old car even if it's in good condition.
I work in the car industry. Most of the production I deal with is actually done in India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Thailand.
But actually I was referring more to whether you country has local brands or not.

What are the costs? Would it be unwise to buy a 15万 used car if one were to live in a place with bad access to public transportation, just for the sake of convenience, to go to supermarket and government offices etc?

Why the Russians in this thread are allowed not sent to Ukraine?

AFEELA.jpg - 1284x1250, 192.69K

The main cost I'm thinking of is 車検 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor-vehicle_inspection_(Japan)
There's also insurance, parking space, etc. but these don't scale with the age of the vehicle.

Would it be unwise to buy a 15万 used car if one were to live in a place with bad access to public transportation, just for the sake of convenience, to go to supermarket and government offices etc?

If you need a car you need a car. In this situation I would by a scooter instead. The cheap cars are cheap for a reason. It's to offset the costs of 車検. It can still be worth it but you have to run the numbers.

No need to be rude, we're not talking about politics here.

Because no one is being send to Ukraine right now. Almost all of the people there are those who signed the contract.
Idk to be honest. I don't have much money to import the car, so I just sit and wait. But the situation might change to not better side. Who knows.

Yeah I figured as much... Type 1 gentsuki is can't move faster than 30kmph in Japan, compared to 50kmph in Russia, but that's still better than a bicycle or a poor quality car I guess

Also can you please give me an advice regarding used scooters, because I can't really find the info I need
Do they require 車検 or any other type of additional fees or paperwork? Do I need a hanko? Can I buy one and immediately ride it?

Looks like some restyled Lada

Polonez was just a modified Fiat 125P
frankly with FSO's demise nothing of value was lost, their union rights bullshit convinced VW that it's a shit idea to buy out our industry and they just invested in Skoda instead

You can move around just fine one gentsuki in Japan as long as you don't need to use the highway.

Do they require 車検 or any other type of additional fees or paperwork?

No 車検. Just insurance which is very cheap and can be bought at a conbini for up to 3 years I believe.
There's some paperwork for transferring the ownership of the gentsuki. Sorry it's been many years since I've dealt with that so I can't remember well, but I remember it wasn't too painful.

Do I need a hanko?

You can use a hanko if you have one registered, but foreigners are able to use (written) signatures in documents.

Can I buy one and immediately ride it?

Yes.

When I was growing up I always liked the Mini cars and thought I would buy one some day.
But now they're owned by BMW and I don't like BMW.
Almost all UK brands have been bought by foreigners.

Seems like we both stole one thing. Picrel is Lada 2106.

Thanks you very much, it's really helpful

as long as you don't need to use the highway

That's what I'm kinda worried about, I can't figure out if gentsuki are allowed on 国道58号 from Naha to Nago. I looked at photos of it on the maps and it looks like a regular 4-lane road with no road signs specifying that it's a highway or that scooters are forbidden

But now they're owned by BMW and I don't like BMW.

At least they're not owned by Chinese.

I accidentally misplaced the flags for UAE and China on McLaren and MG.

I can't figure out if gentsuki are allowed on 国道58号 from Naha to Nago.

I've never done that route but that's not a 高速道路 so there should be no restriction. I'm sure you could even use a bicycle if you wanted.

Yeah, I googled a bit and it seems to be the case. Thanks

For me it's Subaru, the best stay on the road and not fucking die while in northern climates car

Sweden makes Volvo and used to make Saab.
I own a Volvo 740, Volvo 945 and a Saab 9-5 Turbo. But I also own a Nissan Maxima SE (1990)

Upon further review, even Aston Martin is not really British anymore.
The holdings company is British, but the major stakeholders are Canadian (~30%), Saudi (~15%), Chinese (~15%), Swiss, German and American (~10% each).
What made you consider the Nissan instead of another local car?

We make shit cars

Technically I guess? I will never be able to afford one though.

Isn't Spyker Dutch?

My cunt makes cars but all brands are foreign. I was planning to buy a Suzuki swift but I think I'm going to buy a german car instead

Yes, but they're the same Donkervoort in that they technically exist, nobody owns one and I'll never be able to afford it. I just wanted to post the D8 because it's a cool car.
Also Spyker are fucking dead while Donkervoort still exists even if they exclusively build cars to order.

My wife can be from anywhere, but my car must be Japanese.

Toyota just released the in-vehicle OS Arene, this is the beginning of Toyota's golden 3 years. They will release perovskite-powered Prius that runs 30km per day only with solar power. And they will even perfect it with the solid state battery in 2027. With this, Toyota will cement its brand image of "the most reliable car" once and for all.

I think the last sports brand we ever had was "Lobini". For a such extremely small company they produced a lot of their "H1" model.

Similar fashion to Spyker/Donkervoort, small volume and made on demand instead of full production line.
