are the modern separatism movements in europe serious or are they just for show? like are there actually people who would go out with their guns and fight the government to make BAVARIA an independent country?

IMG_7824.jpg - 736x920, 111.74K

all of these countries would be worse off on their own lol

yes except scotland

Venice 56%

Why would they want to be on their own?

What would the Scots gain from independence, becoming a gas station economy like the Norwegians?

definitely not Bavaria

Galicia should
Castille its killing galician culture which its basically proto portuguese.

yes and they could stop the flow of indians into the country

LOL, Scotland is a one party state under the SNP, one of the most progressive parties in Europe that's why some of their chuds still vote remain

what the fuck is that sardinia flag.

alsatians and britons are thoroughly french and to not call them french would be nonsensical and insulting
People wishing for more regional autonomy aren't rare however it's not like most people care. Independentism is basically only for internet autists

as for corsica I frankly have no idea. There's like 3 people on this island

four ACKed nafris

i support all of them but most of them turned to memes after the end of cold war unfortunately. most of their base was oldschool syndicalist tankie stalinist type boomers.

t.p t.f

Let me talk about your country

Every modern regional autonomy movement in Europe is based on the idea of victimism, being le oppressed and far left politics. They think that once they are independent they will become some perfect utopia when in reality barely anything would change other than which language would be used in government, media and school + they would have to deal will all of the economical and political problems. Also crying about their culture being erased is silly to me when most of those places are being flooded by inmigrants or tourists who couldn't give less of a fuck if you eat butifarra, fuck sheep or speak some isolate language or not. They could have a point a hundred years ago when people in Brittany, Wales or the Basque Country were actually bullied for speaking their languages and sometimes basically treated as second class citizens but nowadays I find everything behind the promotion of those independentist movements more repulsive than the act of independence itself, it's always the lowest common human denominator supporting those movements.

1) They have a semi-functioning economy, far better than the rest of Italy.
2) Unlike most of Italy, they never really allowed their distinct culture and heritage to be subsumed by a pan-Italic identify.
3) The Italian govt has given no compromise/regional autonomy like Catalonia or even Alto Adige has received.

Breton nationalism is more of a far right thing, a lot of them were active nazi collaborators which helped defang the movement post WW2

All the French far-rightists I can name also came from Brittany tho, there is something about this soil

Aren't they turned to left-wing nationalists and pro-Soviet after the 60s?

I doubt it, though I know about the schizo bretons who supported the nazis and made up their own proto pagan religion and shit. Galician and basque nationalism were mostly right wing too, years ago before the Civil War, but nowadays it's all the same turbo leftist victimist mindset

It:s just a bunch of old-fags who want extra gibs as a excuse for not working

Breton nowadays are leftists but I dont know any leftist breton nationalist

The old cliché about bretons was that they were alcoholic bible-thumping simpletons, christianity left a hole that can only be filled by leftism and chudism

yup my mum grew up attending those weird breton communist churches

Total meme in the case of Bavaria. The Bavaria-Party, the one party which advocates for independance, only got 0,9% of the primary vote for the election of the last Bavarian State Parliament in 2023.

Just for show
Breton nationalism is basically boasting about kouign-amann, crêpes, and salted butter, putting Breton flags everywhere in the world, and arguing that Mont-Saint-Michel is not Norman (it is)
Corsicans just want more autonomy, not independance

the only realistic one would be srpska

I haven't heard about Venetian separatism.

i support all of them

Of course you do, Ahmed

Do you suport kurdish separatism too?

Why they didn't armed rebellion like Irish? They can easily obtain guns from Yugoslavia, Soviets, Libya etc.

independent bayern

giga meme

Italy has a gazillion different regions and overlapping regions 'wanting' independence

'wanting'

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Ireland, Scotland, Catalonia, Sprpska republic. Everyone heard about their chimpouts. But Venetia with 56%? And I never heard anything about it? No way.

I support ummah and Islamic unity. If we ruled with Islamic law instead of secular law their identity wouldn't be a problem for state because sharia law allows recognizing other ethnicities and languages.

there's a social movement in southern italy for southern italy to become a part of greece
it's all just retarded bullshit none of them actually care they just hate the government

Real:
Srpska
Ireland

Serious:
Basque
Catalan

Formerly serious:
Scotland
Corsica

Meme:
London
Wales
Bavaria
Veneto
Sardinia

are they serious?

Brittany is also formerly serious

If we ruled with Islamic law instead of secular law their identity wouldn't be a problem for state

Lmao sure, I bet you wouldn't mind sharing a country with every other muslim ethnicity

an independent london would institute sharia law within months

bump

Last week I drove by a house in Needham, Massachusetts that was flying an enormous Venetian flag outside of there really nice house.

probably just tourist larpers. my grandparents a filthy rich WASPs who own a house in venice and their house (in illonois, not in venice) has a venetian flag

Only Scotland is and northern. Ireland are serious

Are you going to inherit any of that?

Ahvenanmaa (Åland) - 100%

i root for Ireland Bavaria and city of London

how would independent aland surive???

scatalan

serious

Migration from Africa

brilliant. but you can't grow yams in aland

This map says United Ireland but above it says "Percent in favour of independence". Those are two very different things. I don't know what year it was made but 18% is pretty low for modern reunification figures but might be around what NI independence is polling. The latter is a pretty fringe opinion due to it being the worst of both worlds for most people.

where is south tyrol?

I bet you wouldn't mind sharing a country with every other muslim ethnicity

Yeah, I wouldn't mind if we aren't overpopulated like India, Bangladesh, Korea or Japan.

Galician separatism

lol
A bunch of boomers on the Internet (very rarely IRL) talking about how dey wuz Keltz ou algo.

they love italy

There are quite literally still areCatalan MEPs whose accession to the European parliament are being blocked by the current Spanish national government.

wtf is Veneto

area that was historically in venice's cultral sphere
