what you forget though is that Finland was never really de facto part of the Russian empire and it was on purpose, because Russians feared that the populance would revolt. So Russians came but left everything the same, all the Fennoswedish elites etc. were still there, the old system was still there, nothing changed except later down the line Finland got more autonomy and few czars later they tried to take it away
