Why? Rabbit is basically chicken but with ears instead of wings, and as smart as a chicken as well.

why are you singling out america? most countries don't eat rabbit

Nobody eats rabbit here unless they're an 18th century huntsman. What does it taste like?

Seems like a lot of work for a little meat. I don't see anything wrong with it though, not like we're running out of rabbits.

most countries don't eat rabbit

like what?

I'm not sure it s a very universal sentiment. Some Americans are very much pussies about eating anything and everything that tastes slightly gamey, even duck or venison will make them stick on the tongue.

when I learnt that rabbits can breed with cats, that's when I stopped eating it

you are barbarians
even we dont eat rabbits here in kyrgyzstan

Wonder if rabbit is really taboo anywhere, and not just uncommon. Horse meat isn't taboo here. That might be a propa' one.

I've ate fried rabbit in America

Its not considered unethical, but some people just think they're cute and don't like the idea of people eating them.

no?
it's a niche game meat but it's not weird to eat like horse.

Horse meat taboo is pretty old in western culture. The Catholic church was against it for a long time.

The most interesting taboo is first cousin marriage. Its gone from being taboo to not taboo to taboo again several times. Now it seems to be universally taboo in the west.

Where did you learn this from?

more difficult to mass-produce compared to chicken innit
also just simply uncommon. in my entire life, including years spent living in the countryside, i think i've only ever seen 1-2 wild rabbits in-person

my daughter told me about a catbunny or something like that... look it up

Yeah, anything sexual involving cousins is extremely taboo here at least. We keep at the horse-munching (though they're mostly a particular sandwich topping, called hamburger meat, for whatever reason).

you went unabomber or just monkee?

Lol. I see them at least once a week for most of the spring and summer. Sometimes multiple in a day. Our cat catches their babies. they are not rare at all. There's a reason for the phrase "breed like rabbits". Maybe you're just a lazy retard who's never up at dawn.

*keep it at

How is horse weird

Stfu, you're making me hungry

Wait... What? Do they really?

In Moscow rabbit meat is sold in almost any grocery store. It's a bit expensive and doesn't taste THAT good so it's not really worth it usually, but it's still a nice meat.
It tastes kinda like chicken but more meaty.
Also it is very low in fat and high in protein, so it can be quite dry, that's why it is usually cooked in stews, or served with buttery sauces

WTH???
IS THIS REAL???

From what I've read, some people eat it, depending on their background. Like rural people for example.
But apparently, for the most part of the population rabbit meat is weird.

they're kinda like dogs; lots of people bond with them, so society made eating horse taboo.
personally, I'd eat horse and rabbit, but dog would still feel weird.
nah not really. we just don't stock it in most supermarkets. if you garden, you learn to hate rabbits quickly

Wow so this is what they mean by "cunny"

weird considering it has taste unlike regular chicke

Hares are really common here. They're fun, because they're simultaneously the most cowardly animal ever and have really bad eyesight, so you see them freezing and raising their ears at a distance as you approach, before they have a chance to spot you.

Like rural people for example.

Makes sense. Since how you described "it's a chicken with no wings", I've seen some people who live in their own houses and breed chicken also breed rabbits too. Not long time ago we even had full farms producing it (maybe still have). But I haven't seen the meat in the supermarkets for a long time, or maybe I just don't notice it.
Last time I ate them was in my childhood.

Kek, cityslicker oblivious to whats going on in the rural depopulated areas where there’s no one else around but your cousin/sister

chicken but more meaty

This. Every time I visit Spain I order some rabbit at the restaurants, it's a thing there.

Meat is meat, if it's not from a human you can eat

Nopes, but I'm sure you can always go deeper when it comes to rural areas.

would you eat dog meat?

Honestly I wouldn't eat dog meat. I wouldn't judge someone who would, but wouldn't do it myself. Also I think there's no way it can actually taste good

sister

???
I think with cousin is also a taboo here, but at least marriages between cousins aren't banned by government. But with sister is kinda sick (speaking as one who have a sister).

I don't even like how dogs smell, not sure why chinese and korean eat them, I wonder if they have sense of smell

I don't think it's taboo nobody eat it because it's not in stores. And people don't hunt

honestly tastes like chicken mate
didnt realise i was eating rabbit until i was told
its not hard to find but i do live in london
