poles should have every right to be proud of their restoration

sovl

You will never be firsties, real firsties destroy buildings that lasted for centuries and replace them with featureless boxes that'll get torn down in 30 years

death to store fronts. they ruined the established lines from 4 stories

Stop approiating our culture

Yes. Your economy is amazing.

Never was.

Tho Polska has always been diverse.
Mongol businesses were common.
As well as businesses from distinct peoples that aren’t on any maps.
Many European peoples are stateless.

Poles speak like that??

It's our culture too because we always had a lot of german, plus it's too late we're already too far in

A nice big temple dedicated to Polska queens and a free university and community center and loitering spot.

That’s what most of the so called “cathedrals” in Polska were originally built as before being invaded and defaced.

I love gothic community centers.

my culture is not your costume

the main building has literally jews names written all over it in the old picture

Too late, it's all new buildings for sale

Jews stole common European names.

It’s Polska land.

Deutsch aren’t angered by such things.

How do Germans feel about die Stadte des Ostgebietes Deutschlands?
I sometimes see German tourists here and while boomers often seem grumpy as if they felt it was stolen from them and should be returned back, young people don't seem very concerned and they just drink beer and chill out. Also I see more and more Germans of clearly Middle Eastern origin here, they speak German natively but look like Turks. I wonder if they associate themselves with German history and also "want it back", that would be kinda ridiculous but who knows

Mogs my new buildings.

It’s Polska enough.

Deutsch have many verities of architecture & culture and aren’t worried.
Only someone who relies on a gimmicky facade would be worried.

yes my entire German identity is some aspects of their generic method of building in some regions

Nobody gives a shit.
A friend of my father had inherited some real estate in Poland many years ago and he sold it because he as no connection to this part of his family.

It's traditional Warmian housing but has german influence

polishers literally call half timbered 'prussian wall'. Thatll give you a hint

That's true but we also call them "domy szachulcowe" and still build them

half timbered wasnt around in that part of europe when the original prussian were around to make a difference wed also see a wider spread in that area from that style and not in western poland. Half timbered is wholly western or atleast English/German/Belgian style. That style of housing was introducet to them by the german prussians

Did you do that one on purpose?

No one denies the style came from Prussia but it was adopted by Poles and became part of Polish architecture too. Especially that afaik one of Prussian kings signed a law that fachwerk should be the only allowed type of construction for village houses in Prussia (apparently it was seen as perfect balance between sturdiness of houses and cost of construction) and when Prussia annexed part of Poland it became a law here too.

It's like saying that Germans should demolish all their baroque palaces like Sanssoucci because baroque originated in the Mediterranean so it's not "authentic" for Germany.

I asume its more or less decorative, right?

Fachwerk was just poor peasants architecture. The original way is literally a bit more stable mudhut. I dont think there were any regulations at play

Yes, I live in a new/newish house thats partly like that too

I dont think there were any regulations at play

It originated naturally but at one point the king decided that it should be forced because it's just the best.

no, germans who came to live in Poland because life was better here spoke like that

Especially that afaik one of Prussian kings signed a law that fachwerk should be the only allowed type of construction for village houses

I couldn't find anything that would support this.

I want to move to poland and find a bf there

Please do, our men need italian men
