I do remember Motorola making an attempt at selling an android smartphone that was assembled in the USA and it's final price wasn't significantly higher than other phones in the same segment.
Component cost of an iphone are like 200-300 USD when bought in bulk. Even with 50% tariffs if the final product was made in US it would maybe be like 160-170% of the price if Apple wanted to keep the profit margins.
