It's dirty, filled with trash, smog and unkept weeds. The barely functioning austro-hungarian infrastructure like the water pipes tend to explode and flood streets and old buildings collapse from moderate earthquakes then take longer to repair than the entirety of west germany after allied bombing. It has absolutely the largest number of asian workers, sometime whole trams being filled with them, and to make things even worse most "natives" are actually Bosnians which explains everything previously mentioned.

I fucking hate Belgrade the people there think they live in some kind of Metropolis when in reality it's a piss poor ugly shithole where everything is brown and dilapidated. The traffic is terrible and everyone drives like a maniac because they expect you to be just as used to the bad traffic as they are. You can't even find a parking space it's overpopulated. And everyone needs a car because the public transport is on the level of like Haiti or something. The people in Belgrade are so smug and entitled while they have nothing to show for it. They think they're the country's elite when the overwhelming majority of them are sons and grandsons of dumb uneducated hillbillies who now think they're cultured. They think the city has "soul" and they're too thick to realize they're the laughing stock of European capitals, but despite that they insist the whole country has to bend over backwards for them to improve Belgrade over everything else while other cities continue to stagnate and are in a much more desparate need for help from the state

Yes the country whose whole history has been nothing but being a war zone until recently is very ugly and absolutely horrid to live in....yes
It's a small city but it has everything you could ever need, clean, safe, spacious, convenient. The problem is everyone wanting to be here makes it hectic and noisy even for a small quiet city, you notice it if you leave how quiet it can be. Inflation also noticeable, good places hard to come by and gone quickly, people unable to afford decent housing, center housing gets bought up and rented out.
