How do Japs have such cheap housing???

mcmansion style house with 2 floors, 3 car garage, gated courtyard, 10 minutes from the beach, 1 hour outside of downtown Tokyo

sub 150k

What the fuck causes this phenomenon?

In Japan houses are considered depreciating assets like how we would view used cars. They lose value over time.

high supply

depreciation culture

earthquake/building codes

akiya

liberal zoning laws

and so on

The answer is always shit wages. The Japanese really don’t make that much despite how hard their companies work them.
Also lmao at “one hour outside of downtown Tokyo”. In your weaboo brain that seems like a good thing, but for the average salaryman who has to make that commute every day it’s a massive negative. Nothing happens in the suburbs of Tokyo either, it’s purely residential.

japan considers a house built 22 years ago as being fully depreciated
they build cheap and plan to rebuild often

Japan is the best coutry in the world that is why.

why is that? is this because shouldent they jack up the price because they like old people?

SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN
WE EXPORT ZA CAR JAPANESE NINJA NUMBA HUAN

but polans vidya do be better than nippon vidya doe?

One hour outside of the absolute center of Tokyo is quite good… it’s the largest city in the world.
Compare house prices to houses 1hr outside of NYC, LA, San Francisco, London, Seoul, etc.

Japan has suburbs? I thought only we had those.

HUSAAAAAAR

Meanwhile in Amurica You have to Drive two hours to buy groceries, And the Amerimutts see it as a good thing, but only at the low low price of $1 million per house built by the best Mexican workers and with the best materials made in China.

East Asians will become more self obsessed and that’s good.
The rest of the world is alien to them.
Except Canada. Will just become more EastAsian

suburbs of Tokyo

What's a "suburb of Tokyo"?

They have a culture of tearing down old houses to build new ones, not renovating them. The older they are the more worthless they become. This also has to do with increasing earthquake building codes that make old constructions less safe and impssible to bring up to code.

ok i chckled

Again, you’re thinking of this from the perspective of a weaboo who just wants to be vaguely near Tokyo so you can go exploring. A actual Japanese person who has to live their life there and work downtown would want to live as close to downtown as they can afford to. People do have 1 hour commutes in Japan, but it’s not considered a desirable thing. It’s the equivalent of what the Spanish retard I’ll reply to below this is describing in America.
Literally no one in America besides the most boomer of boomers who don’t have to go to work thinks this is a good thing, Pedro. Thank you for unintentionally proving my point. Working people everywhere hate commuting.
I’m assuming when you hear “suburb” your brain is picturing an American suburban housing development. That’s one type of suburb, but it’s not what the word means in a general context. Every city on earth has suburbs, it’s the basis of how urban centers form. A suburb is a primarily residential district outside of the center of the city. City centers are primarily commercial districts where there’s less space for residential development, and because of this the residential developments that do exist in city centers have lower supply and are more expensive.

H2

Meme bike made for "cool" kids of t*ktok, I thought Amuricans liked the Hayabusa, that is a truly nice bike.

need to visit Japan again

Pretty much everything in japan that is praised by westerners has a catch. Houses are a liability in Japan.

Thread about Japan

Eurocuck starts autistic screeching about American driving and groceries

Rent free

Country notorious for having long commute hours

criticizes others for having way less commute hours

Why are amerimutts braindead?

the H2 is a god machine

An hour would be considered a long ass daily commute to most Americans that are driving to and from work. It happens but it's not really normal.

Doesn’t your power go out and browns rape women on trains on your shitty country?

Condos are not a liability

because having to endure hundreds of earthquakes in the span a several decades will wear buildings down, even when built with strict seismic protection

They are dying out, fewer people = more houses.
And unlike westerners they don't import people who will pay any price for apartment.

And unlike westerners they don't import people who will pay any price for apartment

Your info is outdated

Surely they don't tear down skyscrapers

Sure, but even so, houses 1 hour away from downtown LA (in the opposite direction of the beach) cost 500k-1mil+. And we're not talking about nice houses here...

palmdale.jpg - 881x618, 175.83K

very cheap construction

the point still stands

1 hour outside of [major western city]

houses are still very expensive

1 hour outside of Tokyo

houses are already affordable

JAPAN ANONS EXPLAIN THIS

Even for skyscrapers and apartment buildings?

idk, but apartment buildings yes. nip condos are very small and the materials used really aint it

bad post, should be brazil vs poland

the east has fallen

They killed Abe, next thing you know tens of thousands of Jeets, Nepalis, and Indonesians are getting work/residency visas for Japan lol
Unironically visiting Japan before covid and after covid was such a stark change I couldn't believe it.
