How successful was the Soviet model of monoblock construction? Is it the solution to a country's housing problems?
How successful was the Soviet model of monoblock construction? Is it the solution to a country's housing problems?
it was "successful" in its real goal which was to force people into cities to provide more factory labor. In terms of comfort? Pretty shit, almost none of these buildings have underground parking spaces and the ones above ground aren't enough, so you have cars parked in the grass everywhere. Also the panels were installed shoddily and you can feel the wind blowing in your living room. However an unexpected bonus is their shoddy construction made them pretty earthquake resistant since they sway with the shocks instead of breaking
They could've made them a bit less ugly, the mismatching ''terraces'' are an eyesore (I guess that's just the people fault for doing whatever they want with it), also when they are really towering they look particularly awful (saw lots of those tall commieblocks in Sofia), the Khrushchevkas don't look too bad
Post it ten more times
Do you live in a commieblock? How is it?
I don't
The cold would not be a problem in Argentina, and it is not an area with many seismic movements.
This is just my second thread. The first one wasn't successful. Besides, my country has a housing problem, and I like to fantasize about how it'll be solved.
Why do you even need houses in warm countries lol
great for killing TFR
Like this bitch.
to fuck your mother
You are the bad guy.
killing TFR
what?
You are the bad guy.
I wanna see Scotland. I will compare dicks. I will slit it. Split it. And cry about it. So sad indeed.

I saw the vision.

You live in a country God created douche bag.
Holy seethe lmao
Tenements are comfy as fuck. I love having neighbors, it really feels like a tight nit community.
I'd rather fuck you, your mother is very dry
underground parking spaces
Digging underground parking for mass habitation designated the poor seem like a waste.
What our anti-commie regime did was placing the buildings on stilts, so each inhabitant could use their designated space on the bottom floor to park their car or even set up a store, of course that meant buildings couldn't be as tall as soviet ones, otherwise some people wouldn't be left with their own space
We have commieblocks in the conurbano.
depends on what type of commieblocks you are talking about because at some period they thought it would be a good idea to make collective kitchens or living rooms where two families live together
but overall they solved their housing crisis pretty quick and people had a free warm house for themselves so
They are isolated cases
How successful was the Soviet model of monoblock construction?
Very successful considering their need for housing during the post-war
Is it the solution to a country's housing problems?
Most country's housing problems are caused by real estate speculation instead of facing s lack of houses
the average russian anon lives in a comfy stalinka
There's enough space in Argentina for houses. Why live packed in these shitty concrete blocks?
It's not entirely bad. Consider how poor everyone and everything was, it was great I would say.
Solution is the government, not the commie-block. We have tons of new capitalist-blocks with 25+ storeys. And this shit is overpriced that people barely can afford it. Developer companies probably makes or made x50 on that.
to fix the problem quickly
>Is it the solution to a country's housing problems?

it's not even winter; that's what november looks like in northeastern Europe too and the cold is definitely a problem
Patagonia here
still isn't as cold as Eastern Europe
What problem? The million of bolivian/paraguayan without home?
basta chudy no sos blanco
Did its job which was to get everyone into houses ASAP after the country burned down in WW2
a casa mamani

Haven't noticed it here. My grandma lives in such panel house. Mostly it goes through windows, because they're old wooden framed. She refuses to install new ones. You can live normally in -30C.
Claro
Aren't they apartments? If so, then they're pretty successful.
Jajaja como si italia fuera un pais blanco, este chudy
