im definitley leaning into a STEM degree or an in demand trade with some experience. engineering degree with a few years experience is my current plan, it will be a pain, but alot of these humanities degrees just arent needed and you will struggle to find a company to hire you. luckily its very easy for Brits to move to australia, you may have a nice visa agreement too though. i thought netherlands was doing quite well

Yeah. Even the non-programming STEM is currently being outsourced everywhere because the unions are quite weak. Trades are good and have good unions but you have to actually do some real job. Medicine has good unions and highest pay and you don't really work but you have to have the means to spend a lot of time neeting.
