There are so many mixed people nowadays it's beyond my comprehension.
The most common pairing is kazakh man and russian woman.
The most interesting thing is that even though pairing of Russian men and Kazakh women do exist, they almost never have children while the couples with Kazakh men have very high birth rates and it's really prominent in my area. Two of my former classmates were from such couples, my teacher, and others. Also I have and uncle who is married to russo-ukranian and they have 8 children together.

I think the situation has changed a lot over the years
Growing up I didn't see many hapas and I think the norm was for hapas to not care about their Asian heritage
I grew up in a 99% white area and so never had the chance to interact with Asian people beyond my family
I always felt like my mixed heritage made me special though and after primary school I met a lot more Asian people and felt an existential need for them to acknowledge me as Asian
It was at that point that I began to wish I were fully Asian
These days I think a lot more hapas are happy to fully identify as Asian Australian, they have Asian friends, consume Asian media and get involved in a lot of Asian culture and I think this is even more so true for Hapa women
