Could this be considered a fourth world country?

Could this be considered a fourth world country?

shithole.png - 828x647, 619.01K

Too developed to be fourth world, not developed enough to be first world, not socialist enough to be second world.
It's a third-world failed state.

too developed

You have a lower HDI than Peru. You also have a homicide rate several times higher than Haiti.

if you include missing persons along with homicides the number sky rockets even more
if they dont know what happened then it goes under missing person (which is not a small number)

Nightmarish. It's unreal to accept we have a literal depiction of hell pre-civilization south of the border and everyone is just okay with it. Imagine how terrified their neighbors are. This is unreal.

Yes. Fourth-world means "No Internet, bottom-level literacy rates, no plumbing systems, literal Stone Age-level development". Fourth world is so low that the vast majority of Africa is already well past that.

that's the thing with thirdie countries though
some pockets of them are actually very nice
outside of pockets theyre complete shitshows
there are a bunch of nice places in the country that are completely liveable

Southeast Mexico supremacy

I just watched some videos of Colima. Total shithole.
The nice parts are still significantly more unsafe than literally anywhere else. You really can't escape the violence there. I've seen person after person say they've moved out because the gunshots crawled into the neighborhoods they lived in. Everyone who DID move there moved back. They're barely civilization. They just put fancy lights on to emulate first world aesthetics.

Mexico is more developed than the US, so it should at least qualify as first world.

Then why did you leave?

You also have a homicide rate several times higher than Haiti.

Yeah, this is bullshit.

Haiti and a lot of african countries just aren't keeping track or reporting honestly those statistics. There is zero chance that a failed state, taken by gangs like Haiti is safer than Mexico.

I left India to make money in the US because companies will pay top dollar for hard workers. Don't see what has to do with Mexico, though.

You're only saying that because you've been indoctrinated to view blacks as innately inferior. Haiti has ONE violent city to its name.

There is zero chance that a failed state, taken by gangs like Haiti

You mean like Mexico? Mexico has been fighting (and failing) a war against its 15 or more gangs since 2006. The nation is literally a narco state legally seized by them and HAS BEEN for almost a decade you taco munching anchor baby.

pre-civilization

Mexico's not pre-civilizational. It's extremely violent and lawless in many cases, but also with sky-high poverty rates, tropical disease/malnutrition problems comaparable to parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, and in spite of all that, it somehow manages to have relatively decent literacy rates and an average life expentancy almost comparable to first-world countries.
People who work as torturers and smugglers for drug cartels can have up to 10 years of education completed on average, so just two years less than a high school diploma, and it's possible to find literal slum dwellers who can live up to the age of 80, something which is both concerning and at the same time surprising, given that people in countries like India are not expected to live past the age of 70 on average.

And no, it's not just because of los CIAs or el fucking Mexican federal government or anything like that. It's because Mexico is a country full of people that have a great potential for growth but intentionally stifle their own development due to their severe lack of initiative and willingness to be held accountable for their actions.

People who work as torturers and smugglers for drug cartels can have up to 10 years of education completed on average

They recruit children.

it's possible to find literal slum dwellers who can live up to the age of 80

But most people don't.

We are a developing country. Period.

In fact, we've significantly reduced our crime rate in recent years.
Many states that used to be known for being unsafe are now more peaceful and pleasant places.

No amount of pretty lights will drown out the sounds of screaming or memories of poverty.

How would you fix Mexico? I think they should ask for help from the USA, send the army to kill the cartels.

We are not poor, our gdp per capita is high income of $25,000.

If that is a brilliant plan why milei didnt ask the US military to attack your narcos in rosario and in your villas?

The issue isn't solely cartels. Mexicans themselves are not good people.

Yes, and Canadian is higher tha. Yours and Spanish is higher than France or Japan, kek. UNDP Human development index is bullshit.

It's not so bad here. Also the USA has no reason to kill narcos here but killing narcos in Mexico makes sense for them since they send drug across the border.

The point I was getting at is that Mexico is a country that has no inherent geographical or political disadvantages. It's not landlocked, in a permanent border dispute with its neighbors, in possession of an extremely narrow strip of inhabitable land where the vast majority of the population is forced to live, or extremely far away from the world's major trade routes.
It's got a perfectly good location between two of the world's major oceans immediately south of the world's largest developed country and has a large, mostly urbanized, literate population that speaks a single language (as opposed to countries that are mainly rural and speak over a dozen different languages and must use pidgins or a lingua franca to communicate with each other) and relatively decent public healthcare services.
Yes, Mexico's a shithole, but the ONLY thing stopping Mexico from progressing beyond being a shithole is Mexican people's shitty attitude and lack of long-term vision.

you guys are insane
the cartels have TOTAL control over your country niggas
idc if your economy is getting better or if your cities are getting safer (it's probably just because one of the cartels are controlling even more areas so they stopped fighting between themselves)
you CAN'T elect politicians specially a president they don't like this a like a puppet state for the drug overlords
if i were a mexican without any connections to the cartels i would just leave to the US desu it's a lost cause and you guys need external help

The sources I shared are not government sources, and many agree that security has improved significantly in several states, including Mexico City, Jalisco, Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas, Baja California, and the State of Mexico.

We dont need external help because is not bad of you dont get involved in the cartels.

Kek, You are from Brazil, the fuck are you talking about?

if i were a mexican without any connections to the cartels i would just leave to the US

That's the problem with people from third-world countries in general. They think they can make their lives better by moving over to a first-world country even though the reason why their country is a third-world country is because people like them do not act like first-worlders do in the first place. You can't expect the environment around you to be clean if you're not clean. You can't expect people to keep their promises to be on time if you're not punctual. You can't expect people to pay debts if you never pay debts. You can't expect innovation to start popping up if you never come up with unique suggestions.

Half of Brazil's murders are prison violence.

brazil.png - 828x521, 306.32K

you guys are acting like fucking jeets now my god
hundreds of politicians were killed during your last elections
the biggest gangs try to bribe politicians and influence shit here but they don't have TOTAL control of the country like the cartels have in mexico they literally own your country
if you didn't get my point here now i give up

You are overreacting, Brazil is worse than mexico in all senses. You can walk in a mexican hood night without any problem unlike going to a favela in Río or sao paulo. Get your shit together joao.

but mexicans can't do shit in this case
the cartels are stronger than your army
your only option is asking and praying for external help

Mexico is typically classified as:

A developing country

An upper-middle-income economy (according to the World Bank)

A member of the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), which includes many industrialized countries

Part of the Global South, but with a large, diversified economy

While Mexico faces significant challenges like inequality, corruption, and crime, it has a strong industrial base, global trade ties (especially via USMCA), and is not considered "fourth world" in any recognized framework.

the biggest gangs here don't control the whole country (at least yet)
mexico is much more of a failed counry than brazil right now at least we still have sovereignty you don't

Brazil is such a shithole that, not being near the US, and i don't how but the gangs control part of their territory, not cartel, just gangs, don't compare.

the cartels are stronger than your army

"The apple does not fall far from the tree"
I wouldn't care if America, or even a NATO coalition were to invade Mexico, but would getting rid of cartels really reform Mexican society? Would it really provoke such a great shift in the average Mexican's Weltanschauung that it would make literally every single Mexican follow the Calvinist/Confucian work ethic? Would it make Mexican people honest and genuinely interested in being productive in an efficient way?
I feel like in order to really get rid of Mexico's problems from the root, you would have to uproot every single part of Mexican culture so thoroughly and completely, effectively replace it with a distinct culture and way of thinking and Being that you would effectively be replacing the souls of Mexican people with those of hyper-utilitarian robot-like beings.

Any other attempt would be like cutting branches and leaves of an invasive plant without actually getting rid of what grows under the soil.

yeah this is correct, there's no reason to stay here other than family, there are no job opportunities, I'm a stem graduate and the degree is basically useless because most jobs are informal anyway and industrial/technological jobs are almost nonexistent, only foreign companies provide them.
the streets are too dangerous even during the day, some cope by saying there's dangerous zones in every country but it's just a sad cope.
take the daily commute and you'll see countless expensive trucks with no plates and tinted windows and the police won't do anything about it, law enforcement has become a meme. The state only prosecutes those involved in cases such as the one with the influencer woman who was shot during a tiktok live, basically any case that causes lots of indignation but at the same time aren't that serious so most cartel members will get off the hook after a couple weeks, at most cops or the military will steal their shit but that's it they're getting out after spending a week detained.
Inflation gets worse every year and minimum wage only gets increased by like 30 pesos or so (a fucking litter of milk).
it's a failed state, the law doesn't exist, government is corrupted to the core, populist commie larper party takes the majority of the votes and society (specially zoomers) can't get enough of narco culture just take a look at what top 50 songs in Mexico are and you'll see. Imagine what this place will be like in 10-20 years it'll be so fucking grim I might as well escape to Argentina by then.

don't bother talking sense to these brain washed morons far too blinded by nonsensical shit like culture or nationality and pride. they've completely embraced or accepted narco violence as something normal, so ingrained within society and the daily life here that they don't see nothing inherently wrong with it as long as they aren't directly affected.

dumb jeet indio
gangs don't control ANY city here just isolated territories
when i say gangs i'm talking about the biggest ones here they're just like your cartels but with a different name and less powerful
but in mexico they control whole cities and who is going to be the next president
i'm done talking to your retard i have nothing against mexico but you're acting like a dumb nationalist jeet and know nothing about brazil which isn't even subject itt and i wasn't comparing the two countries

deixe-me falar sobre seu país manito.

You're fucking embarrassing

Fu. Ck macaco nig. We are better than you.

Fucking kill yourself, nigger. Brazil is Mexico's greatest ally.
I will gladly kill other Mexicans to defend Brazil, Germany, the Philippines, and the UK.

Hahhahahhahahhahha you are cu. Ck hahahhahhahhahha those macacos arent our allies, only US, Chile and Colombia.

I swear ever since this site was taken down for some reason a shit ton of retarded teenagers from fb and 8ch*ng, the echo chamber for schizophrenic ultra nationalistic and low IQ edgelords, keep coming here even when they're fully aware that even back when ch*spa was a thing nobody wanted them here nor took part in their circlejerk

Imagine believing Pablo Escobar, Helicopter Man, and President Trump are your greatest allies. You're most likely an AnCap kiddie.

Im 34, da fu k are you talking about? Our zoomers are unable to speak Spanish nor English.

uh huh, why dont you go on a vacation in haiti and show us then

Some of you these paisanos are pathethic. Our country has problems. Let's aknowledge it. Why are you getting so defensive over it? We are better than Indians, don't act like them..

yeah you say that as if using fucking google translate was the hardest thing in the world, kids coming from those websites spend too much time online already anyway, and if you're really from there how about staying there then

Im 34

You prolly spent your teenage years and early adulthood smoking da devil's lettuce with UNAM students and permanently fucc'd up yo brain.
I will rape your tranny ass.

funny how there's never a /mex/ general and when there is one is so slow it only gets like 10 replies before it dies but you can see how mexico hate threads really attract both types of Mexican posters.

No, im not a chilangolard. And im an engineer, not a junkie from filosofía y letras.

is there any resistance to narcos or are people just docile, surely normal people want to clean up the country

Yes, theres ones called the autodefensas or vigilantes in Michoacan. But narcos killed the leader, hipolito mora. This countree is beyond saving.
