hunter gatherers actually had a pretty chill time of things. 2-4 hours of work a day, but it was fun work like picking fruit in idyllic meadows or hunting with the bros. the rest of your time was just hanging out, wandering around to cool looking places, building and carving wood and stone tools and weapons and badass fur capes and comfy fur blankets and shit, domesticating local animals, etc. communities were smaller and close-knit, and when the new generation came of age you'd gather everyone up and go on a sex adventure to exchange mates with friendly local tribes to prevent inbreeding, and almost everyone got a mate and passed on their genes; not to mention everyone was just more fit and attractive in general due to better diets and more exercise.
