Most people today somehow fail to understand that in order to have a functional civilization you need people actually building one. You need people operating institutions, disseminating values to the masses, learn how to engineer and create, manage flow of information, trade, resources, etc. We have an expectation that all of this shit is done by itself. If we get to a point where people no longer want to do these things, how can they anticipate having a functional society at all?
