why does this terrify you?
Why does this terrify you?
I want to play the sims 1 now
Liminal af
more like disgusts
Its all fun and games until you have to spend 20 hours a week shuttling your kids from place to place. Then it fucking sucks.
This is what walkable looks like in America, it's just that there is nowhere to walk to
Enormous house, a palace by euroid standards
Private lawns you can do whatever you want with, no gay laws making you tolerate trespassers like England has
Away from the noise and bustle of the big city but close enough to drive there for work, no filthy train full of ethnics
Almost a full town in itself with restaurants, gas stations, ammenities spread throughout in convenient locations
Explain why this is supposed to be bad and remember, Europe is an overdeveloped urbanized shithole with not a tree in sight. I'm five minutes away from a national park.
I just really hate concrete
I am a 20 minute walk from a national park and 10 minutes away from the city center. I can fuck in my backyard and not end up on a sex offender list. The age of consent is 14. Your freedom is a lie.
Dusk is very liminal
my neighborhood looks similar except it actually has businesses within walking distance and (barebones) public transit.
it doesn't
what scares me is how ameriacns think this is somehow a "great environment" to raise children
your entire 16-18 year life prior to getting a driver's license is effectively a house arrest in which to do literally anything with your peers you have to ask your parents or someone with a car to shuttle you to and from.
It's no wonder that american kids either troon up, get addicted to drugs or simply shoot up their schools.
do whatever you want with
HOA would like a word with you.
nah, they become friends with the neighbours kids
There's more to life than fucking kids you retard pedo.
Funny thing about a HOA is, if you own a home, you can join them and then vote on things. They aren't some cosmic force that just happens to you and you can't do anything about it.
It doesn't, it looks great at least for few years until it becomes nevitably dilapilated.
No at all, it looks like a nice neighbourhood
Too many liminal spaces and a scary lack of third places
holy cope
because they have sidewalks no one ever uses
Not everyone is a spineless incel that only leaves their parent's house on a monthly basis.
It's all cope
It's so blatant
It's not the place it's the people that inhabit them
restaurants
you mean fast food joints
because i am a young man. i want to go where the action is at. this is for a family man. i'm not ready for a family.
The ENTIRE point for me to own a house is privacy.
Those houses are basically just apartments with a think patch of grass between them.
The reason I am saving for a house is to get away from people.
school bus, motherfucker
No, I meant restaurants. We have more of those than you do and ours are better.
Europe is an overdeveloped urbanized shithole with not a tree in sight
Both Sweden and Finland is around 70% forest.
My apartment is surrounded by light forest on all sides.
So you're recommending Hungary, eh?
Noted. When I'm fed up enough of "my" shithole and its retarded brainwashed people here, and in a position to move, I might go to Hungary.
I have 7 huge parks in my city and I live 200 meters away from a small forest
having sex with young attractive women is LE BAD
This is what christcuck puritanism does to your brain
Where's the hustle? Not even a single bustle to be found.
I'm five minutes away from a national park
I'm 25 minutes away from one.
No offense but that just looks like the normal rocks and trees i see on my way to work (pnw). Is it really considered national park worthy in sweden?
We have 30 national parks in Sweden.. From forestland, wetlands to the mountains.

America IS prison. In the summers, if your parents cant afford to send u to summers camps, you do nothing but sit indoors or kick rocks. Afterschool the same. My nearest friend was two miles away. No sidewalks. I feel like ive been driving arnd endlessly or in a moldy windowless room my entire life. In my midtwenties now, but i still sometimes cry when i think of those long hot summers never straying more than a mile from home. If i didnt have my brother i wouldve killed myself.
Eh, we have 63 and usually they have something interesting or impressive in them not just because there's a mountain or river heh
They do not suffer.
schoolbuses only take kids to and from school.
Why would it terrify me? It's extremely sovlful and I wish I lived there
that's a cabin, not a house, and we have those too
Our national parks are in place to protect nature and the wildlife. Not to act as some kinda showpiece for tourists.
I wanna live life there. Any idea how much a house costs in a nice state for minorities. I don't want my 5 year old hapa son getting screamed at by disgusting white monkeys.
nypost.com
Come, here! And see! Live! You could never!
What wildlife
Moose, bear, boar, various deer species, small mammals, beavers, birds, snakes, amphibians, etc etc.
Moose alone is so common it's one of our major cause of serious traffic accidents.
We have wolverines and fisher cats and the most species of caudata in the world
We have wolverines as well.
Anon, honest question. Are you underage?
You're acting like a "my dad works at Nintendo" school kid.
All i said was i'm surprised those pictures you showed are things that are just normal on an everyday drive and you started getting angry. I'm sorry your nature sucks and is everyday boring stuff apparently but don't blame me for that. I didn't even want to mention we have every single animal you named but you must want to be humiliated so here we are in the grave you dug
i dream of this
Yeah just keep digging that hole, kid.
I can fuck in my backyard and not end up on a sex offender list.
I volunteer myself for this demonstration
There are only 670 kinds of bird in sweden and over 2,000 in the USA. Surely you can see the futility of your struggle now. Just take the L and live to fight another day.
"my daddy is stronger than yours"
Thanks for proving my point kid.
It looks great I would gladly move there desu
By the way you're an idiot for saying what you did earlier. We have those too they are called nature preserves and you aren't allowed to camp in them so the wildlife isn't disturbed
That being said suburbs are a trade-off, I don't understand why people don't accept this
You give up convenience for space. The best deal is having a house in the city in a quiet place that is very close to downtown
i dont really trust people with houses that large
what you need all that room for?
ummm you can't walk to the store it's inconvenient! gas is expensive o algo!
get a BIKE
this burger mentality is so real that even its naysayers forgot that bicycles exist for fucks sake...
mainly so I can make some moderate level of noise every day (instruments and singing practice)
We really need to move on from the plain, boring green lawns and start planting native plants. Fucking boomers
for me its patches of natural flowers as untamed garden-likes with cleen cut natural grass not foreign turf for stuff like playing in the yard with my son or parking for events
I wouldn't mind living there because I'm a neet shut in and I don't leave my house much, but it would suck with how much time I would have to spend driving to places if I had a normal life
Mow your lawn you lazy ass zoomer pothead
cities are much better if you are a loner imo
I am obese and i dont want to ride a faggot bike on the road with 1 ton pickups and i live in a hilly area and the nearest grocery store is miles away and theres snow here for 6 months, thank you. Isnt it the same in canada? Fucking retard
just lose weight its ez
I'm obese and I ride a bike. It is literally, scientifically less taxing than walking.
American cities are insanely empty, walking is too spicy for them.
just put winter tires on your bike
i won't tell you to ski to the store because x country skiing is something that is ACTUALLY hard for obese people (cycling isnt) but if you lost weight you should just ski
I dont really "walk" either. Strolls around my neighborhood at most. Anyways, this is nonresponsive to my other points. I'm not biking or walking anywhere. I have a gorgeous car. The mindlessness of your post offended me, and I needed to lash out.
I was born this way clown
Then you aren't the demographic my post was directed at
private lawns
You mean privately owned
Cyclists legitimately send drivers into a homicidal rage. Not to mention that a lot of the places you'll need to go are basically on highways. You'd have to be suicidal to cycle in most of the US.
Most Americans are worse off than me, so I'm just standing up for them. You have no right to criticize us because we can't skate or snowshoe to maple syrup factories. We're down here in the arena, slugging it out. Many of us are obese and have to deal with the other points I listed but you havent responded to! Cant believe a canadian is spouting this crap! We are really worlds apart
Cyclists legitimately send drivers into a homicidal rage.
based
Not to mention that a lot of the places you'll need to go are basically on highways. You'd have to be suicidal to cycle in most of the US.
if you live in a suburban satellite town the highway to the city always has a huge ass shoulder and those roads aren't that crazy
if you actually have to go to some middle of bumfucking nowhere you can look on google images for which roads have wider shoulders
but where's the diversity? it's too white
Cheap cookie cutter houses that all look the same and are made of cardboard but still overpriced
Oversized lawn that you have to spend a bunch of time and money maintaining when it really just takes up space
Neighbors act friendly but barely know each other. No sense of community. Most of them secretly hate each other.
Have to drive your car to go literally anywhere
At least 30 minutes to the nearest strip mall filled with the same half a dozen chain restaurants and big box stores
can join them
forced by law to join them*
plus pay a monthly fee that is often a few hundred dollars
and your word as a goy doesnt mean shit in it
mary was a mother at 13
This is about
waaaah i wanna live in a suburb but i don't wanna drive a car o algo
As long as you are under 400 lbs you should be able to ride a bike
take your meds shitlib
I do feel scared when walking alone at night because I'm always paranoid thinking I'll get robbed
I have a muscular bmi of 34.9. Very athletic, with an athletic background. I CAN bike. Youre still not being realistic. Lets talk when you come back to earth.
Cookiecutter words. Accept the diverse experiences of your fellow Americans. I've lived in that bubble and its not very nice.
driveable city
I'm not talking about you though you're happy with driving your car. I'm talking about able-bodied 20-somethings who bitch about it taking too long to walk somewhere as if a bicycle is too costly for them
I hate most people in my cunt and even saying hi to them annoys me. I would never live in an HOA.
Having to deal with inner city latrinX is less of a headache than dealing with tasteless low iq suburban mexicans of poor background in positions of power
I don't want all that turf and I don't need 5 toilets and 9 rooms
Homes are codified into an HOA by city ordinance. Only homes that aren't codified are given the option of joining. Otherwise, your property is in the HOA regardless of how you feel.
I live in a city where most of the businesses and some government buildings are located on stuff like this. Sometimes there's not even sidewalks.
Holy shit I've never seen anywhere THIS bad in Canada
Yes you have
No I haven't My suburban town has NOTHING like that, there is a bike path separated from the road by grass, along all of the main/business roads
I struggle to grasp why a person wants or needs a house that big. Must be a bitch to clean.
And most people don't live that close to a national park. They live close to a shitty ugly shopping street.
There's no children playing outdoors
sad desu
Thanks, but riding a bike all over creation is not reasonable.
Not safe to walk there.
Also, for those who dont know, nice established neighborhoods in America dont have sidewalks. OPs neighborhood is LOWclass. Sorry. Youre not meant to walk there. I've lived in the bubble.
The opening shot with the huge flag looks pretentious, but then you know, nearly everything made in America looks pretentious as well
No there aren't
Thanks, but riding a bike all over creation is not reasonable
but surely walking for an hour to work is more reasonable than cycling 15 minutes to work on the same route. very reasonable
Bikes are pretty damn expensive. Jumped last time there were aluminum tarriffs. Never went down. Probably the same story this time.
Looking at bikes being a minimum of 900 bucks in a few years probably.
youtube.com
This dude was trying to prohibit kids from having social media before they are 16. Is that a thing somewhere? Is it working to make kids go outside somehow?
Homes are codified into an HOA by city ordinance
I don't know where you live but where I live HOA's are all civil agreements drawn up by developers before they even break ground on developments because 80% of boomers here actively want to live in an HOA development.
'cept there are
also cycling from my place to the stores is faster than driving there because if you drive there you have to go north, east then south along a road, but on a bike you can cut through houses on a sidewalk and ride straight through a park (with a bike path(!))
That's gay
I grew up in a suburb. Wasn't as nice as OP's, but it was nice. The first time I moved out and lived within walking distance of things was so nice. I never want to go back. There's a certain freedom and liberating feeling to being able to just go out, not worry about gas, or driving, or anything and just walk to a store.
I bought my bike for $120 some years ago and it's in excellent condition even after everyday use
BTW I have a separate savings account called the "no car fund" where I put money which is the same amount that an average person pays for their car (gas, insurance, maintenance etc) which I only may use for cycle repairs (like $20 a year) and I go on 2 overseas vacations a year based on that money alone lol
Are you claiming to do this yearround? No one bikes here when the temperature drop below freezing with snow and ice on the ground. More, roads arent safe, period, at any time, least of all during rush hour. And again, as other Americans have pointed out walking isnt an option.
you can get winter tires for bikes but personally I ski through the park in the winter to go to sobeys
Not an argument
Like the school bus is even going to enter into that gated community.
Actually jealous. Lived in Asia and Europe before and I miss not having to own a car every second of my life. Shit is just too much of a financial burden.
It's the same here but if the homeowners collectively vote to abolish, it can be reactivated in the future and it only needs half the neighborhoods votes to do so.
Honey, what shall we eat to fill lift our hearts cholesterol?
there are many neighborhoods in Chile like that
Reeks of rotting.
Chaos and total anarchy is goodness especially in such situations.
according to everyone I "have to own a car where I live" (even THOUGH the town, highway and city are all decent for cycling)
pic: shoulder is as wide as lanes
I'll be honest with you I don't mind having to bike for a couple of hours a few days a year just to go to some festival downtown or something.
my work commute is 15 minutes on bike (longer than ride to groceries etc)
Black ice.
How would european women react to American classic car owners? Answer honestly and without venom
Sorry you live in some broke ass southern shithole where the fanciest place to eat is cracker barrel.
Black ice.
never been a problem for me.
you see, the thing is:
black ice is invisible TO CAR MOTORISTS
nod really to pedestrians and cyclists
Biking on the highway
No thanks. There's enough fuckers full of themselves here I'd be killed one day.
Idk, probably depends on what side of Europe you're on. West probably wouldn't give a damn or turn their nose up on it, east would probably think it's hot.
But that's just my impression. Likely it's more of a person by person basis.
biking in the highway is terrifying with trucks zooming past you at 70mph. did it once, never again
well the highway here is 50 kmh and anyway as I showed on the pic the shoulder is wide
haven't had a problem there, plus it's flat
Youre right. It would also likely depend on the car. Theres no car culture there anyways...probably few collectors, even among wealthy dads.
That's probably true too. Like I can take a muscle car to Japan but I doubt they'd be as impressed as if I had a classic Skyline or some shit.
Still think it's a travesty that we have such a huge car culture, but no highways without speed limits like Germany/Japan. I feel majorly ripped off.
Haha, I dont speed in my car! I get your meaning though. Mercedes>Mercury.
You'll get pulled over by state troopers, threatened with BBC, shot 29 times, and fined 400,000 USD for biking on the freeway. It's against the law.
Well I don't generally either, but I do tend to see how I can push a new one... Just wished I had the freedom to do so legally.
Agree with you there. You havent lived until youve redlined a 2015 ford focus. Or so i'm told.
