What's your minimum anons? 60k here

80k.

I make enough to easily pay rent and groceries and buy shit for my hobbies, what more could I want

I make 17 a year so I am doomed to poverty

y-you mean 170k right

3k monthly

This isn't a lot.

Do they expect people to live eating nothing but rice and eggs?

Honestly, what's the point in working when you just know that you're statistically doomed to a life of paying rent?

It's 2600 after taxes.

40k is nothing lmao. Eurps really are broke ass nibbas if thats considered an improvement

seaside workers are all immigrants

hotel workers are all immigrants

construction workers are all immigrants

programmers are all immigrants

we were supposed to become rich BEFORE we got flooded by turd worlders

Sounds mid-low for Denmark desu
40k before tax is pretty much the median salary here

Is it even possible to survive with that in Sweden? How much is rent in one of your large cities?

40k is roughly the american median personal income

it's good for the youth to be entitled
fuck the upper class, fuck work
give us more money

Rent is pretty cheap here desu. You can get a pretty decent place for like 800 a month in a medium size city. In small towns you can get like 250 dollars a month for rent with utilities included.

40k pounds = 73k CAD which is a decent middle class salary here

kek sure but thats counting west virginia hillbillies and flip flop people from new mexico. In civilized parts of America with working economies 40k would be embarrassing for a burger flipper in highschool

They must be around 45k-50k now, and it's after tax from what I've read

70k but my experience is still fairly limited

Mindblowing
Does the government subsidy rent there?

like 9,5k.

that's neither here nor there because in SF you'll pay $3500 a month to live in a shoebox apartment and your Uber will be $40. Your purchasing power won't necessarily be higher than some carpenter in Nebraska

40k is roughly the american median personal income

....
"Yeah but that's like, counting everybody. I'm only talking about the people who specifically support the argument I'm making."

No but there are rent controls and a housing queue system. Also most people are in a renters union where they try to collectively bargain for as low rent increases as possible.

Now that's something else. Never heard about a renters union

That would work well where I live. Like fully half of the houses/apartments are vacant but no one is willing to lower rent lol

Also since no one seems to notice this here's the conversion. we're talking about 53k USD

40.png - 1031x588, 74.56K

kk thanks for telling me about my country vlad. it workers living in San Fran make millions of dollars. 3500 dollar rent seems high for a pig raker in kentucky but its not a big deal for someone that can afford to live there. thats why fox news constantly talks about it to stir up the yokels. Aside from that did you know there are several cities of various sizes and price ranges in California

I'm just saying it doesn't make sense for you to discount hillbillies in statistics when the OP is talking about young NEETs in the UK

we're talking about 53k USD

Not really. You'll probably buy more with 40k dollars in America than you would with 40k pounds in England

I'm involuntary unemployed. Nobody would hire not even the garbage picking and illegal construction jobs.

yes and in the middle ages people lived to an average age of 30 lmao.

No, seventeen thousand pounds a year

40k is what I earn

Dire, is this minimum wage in Lithuania?

It depends on where you live. If you live in London, 40k is genuinely nothing. I live in a town outside Glasgow, and 40k would be pretty good

It works to keep rents low for the people who already have rent contracts but it can take years of waiting in queue to get it. It also means there is a pretty low amount of vacant apartments and people don't tend to move from the good ones without a good reason. But just for the lower rents it's still a pretty good deal for most people.

I want to make my parents retire and fund my sister's mba but I simply don't make enough :(
I am also stock illiterate and don't know shit about trading

Slightly better, actually.

8k dollars in average

It's understandable. I make ~40k. And When earning 30k I had more money to spend because the government would subsidise everything.
Anything below 50k is basically poverty tier.

I never worked a day in my life and can afford to travel, not worry about price of food and bills, have my own nice apartment. Why the FUCK would I get a job?

Yes but what's the minimum amount that you would accept?

73k a year is a pretty shit salary

The average wagie makes 1400€ a month here. I don't even know how the fuck you consider 5000€ a month a low level salary

What was your biggest salary so far?
I've made 100k last year working abroad but it will likely never happen again

I'm an apprentice. I'll be making 24k this year. Pretax

36k after tax in 2016
That would be ~47k now or 66k pre-tax.

Is that in usd? Pretty hard to follow nowadays with the exchange rate making roller coaster moves

Euro

firstie problems without becoming firsties

Grim

Bretty good anon. How much does a 66k pre-tax make after tax in you're cunt? That would be 3.5 k per month here

I hope so, people don't have to work for literal crumbs. I make 220k₽ now but I would not even get up of my bed for less than 150k₽

€3,9k.
It's below the 75k 49,5% tax bracket.

the benefits of having a job go beyond getting a paycheck, but it still sucks knowing you get paid below a living wage

Damn are the tax rates actually that high in Netherlands???

Like what?

What's the point of work for food, having only 3 hours aside work and sleep each day and not being able to afford anything aside main necessities? I'd prefer to die.

If it's like here, taxation is progressive, meaning that the tax rates only apply to the money earned above each threshold. So if he earned 80k, he would be taxed at 49.5% on these last 5k, which means that you cannot earn less when your salary is increased (except edge cases when benefits are taken into account)

Everybody has always done that
Leisure didn't exist until the 1950s

The hustle and bustle of the office

You shouldn't be allowed to make threads about work on a Sunday, it's not right to us wagies who are dreading it

Listening to your colleagues telling them about their boring lives

Actually people working on the fields had more free time. And so what even if so? Why should I work my life out having no time and nothing, while rich oligarchs and greedy founders of the companies with media clowns get more than my salary in a minute of their time?

Reasonable. Entry level salaries should be enough to pay 5 year mortgage for the 2 bedroom house. This is unironically solution but corpos would seethe to the blooded fingers to pay double their wagies.

Work for minimum wage and keep living alone with your parents goy

I have tried to move out from my parents and rent an apartment twice already, both times I had to settle for a shitty room in an apartment with a bunch of latinamericans I hated. I'll kill every boomer who tells me to find a job as a cashier just to go through the same again or keep living with my parents. Also I was earning around 19/20k euros a year.
At his point I'd rather move to the middle of a forest and try to survive foraging berries

well then die

I've never earnt more than £30k

If these are from benefits it's fine desu

If they had free time they'd use it productively to weave, prepare dinner or make spoons

Even during sleep they would work by waking up to stock a fire

Nigga, I still need to prepare dinner.

make spoons

You compare 19th century to Neolithic times?

Why do anglos place the currency symbol before the number? Doesn't make any sense

They made spoons to trade

Absolutely, if the government wants me to pay back the ~100k that I owe them in student loans, they better find me a high-paying job.
If they cannot do that I'll just remain a comfy NEET forever and they'll lose even more money on me every month. Either way it's not my problem.

It's from wageslaving in a dilapidated, unheated building for 40 hours a week

In an average area? I'm currently making 90k but would settle for 80k.
For somewhere like Hawaii or NoVA at least 100k.

Fug

holy cope, most amerimutts live paycheck to paycheck

#6 is wrong, at least in the US. The top five states that receive the most welfare are all Republican and majority white.

NO PUSSY(marriage) NO TAXES
NO PUSSY(marriage) NO WORK

One of my great grandpas was a bootmaker.

*hits you with the AI notes*

one of mine dug ditches until he lost his eyes during the winter war

Maybe according to your communist shithole's propaganda organ. Hobos in Iowa get 30k/yr in gibmedats just for existing.

ok now look up what i actually said dumbfuck

What does "living paycheck to paycheck" mean exactly, what's the objective criterion? Or is it another meme?

it means mutts literally cannot save any money from their monthly pay, it all goes towards living costs
and then they spam the 'log with muh "european innovation threads" and other bs....

Because 30k£ would be silly

It's a meme. Zoomers are "living paycheck to paycheck" because they are susbscribed to eighteen services and eat at restaurants three times every day. If they had to live a spartan euroid lifestyle they would all have hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings.

The international system of units literally states that the value and the unit of a measurement should be separated by a whitespace. 30 k£. 50 km. It's just yet another quantity, no reason to make it special.

image.png - 307x469, 54.25K

30 k£ is still stupid, try again.

Why? It follows usual conventions and make it easier to see that it's just another unit. Or does it hurt your feelings?

Were they any good?

Wages are shite here, it's not wonder people don't give a fuck about their jobs. The yanks live to work because they get paid tonnes.

In Dutch it's also in front.
Not sure why, probably because it makes it easier to see it's a monetary value.

Apparently 70-80% of all currencies on earth place the symbol before the value, Euros are just mongs.

I know but I still find it retarded
It's about consistency with other units, not some weird geographical preference

image.png - 1140x343, 38.7K

You don't need a space with £30k

But it's harder to parse

I don't know, but my grandma said that it saved the family in hard times. Not sure about what exactly hardtimes she was talking about. There were plenty.

Thankfully we don't.
It's stupid.
Even when you say something in english you say "It costs 3 dollars" or "It costs 12 pounds" instead of "It costs dollar 3/pound 12"

I get out of bed for a lot less than this.
£1960 a month hits the account.
My cope is that life without human interaction is meaningless. I like the people I work with and I don't mind the work. I still save money and don't struggle badly.
As a certain bald comedian says, it's all well and good sitting around being the Dalai Lama, but someone has to wash the dishes.

I don't sit around, I go hiking and shit.
It's true that the socialising aspect helps, but overall when I was working I never made any meaningful connection there and hardly any social meeting with coworkers, so I'm better off without the whole work thing overall.

How old are you? What allows you to continue this existence?
Some form of work is good for you. Especially things that don't involve emails and meetings. If you could produce something to feel proud of at the end of the day, would that be worthwhile?
I recondition parts for industrial uses, it's repetitive and by-the-book, but even in this I find ways to demonstrate some form of workmanship in the sealants and locking wire.
Well, you can speak at least two languages, I think you'll be alright.

The state give me 20k to not work

Why should I get out of bed for less than a lot more?

You're seriously retarded. America is not like Switzerland where everyone has a fair shake. You really don't want to admit it but in a roundabout way you admitted you're a developing country.

If you live in London, 40k is genuinely nothing.

My last job paid £22k per year and I live in London.

1453096897420.png - 645x1260, 440.33K

I have never known a person who earned that much.
Instagram Expectations vs Pakistan reality

As an American dual citizen who has a home in LA I can admit that Hungary has more gibs than the best the states can offer.

shut the fuck up you obsessed faggot. if you live in some south dakota ass meth state you can sell your shit and move. people that live in alabama are just too retarded to fix their situation.

This is literally Balkan mentality.
Thirdie.

I'm 35, I'd gladly work if I could find something that feels actually useful without slave-tier conditions, but 99% of jobs are either improductive, counterproductive, or underpaid/temporary. I have quite a bit of money saved and diplomas so I don't feel any urge so far, I know I'm quite privileged tbqh.

America is a country with constant inflow of people. Predatory thinking is a self-preservation mechanism in low trust society, aka Jews.

Ah, yes 34 me, I think it's the age system finally spited me out. Cant be exploited enough/ not desperate enough to care.

I think in China is similar system spit people out at 35. What they do after?
I don't watch enough superior china YouTube.
Only low quality mind-numbing us crap.

Do they try to create themselves instead of relating on "jobs"

I make $90k before bonus as an engineer at a fertilizer plant. My engineering degree only took 4 years and I didn't end up with student debt.

Lol jealous euros?

Cheers anon
But I don't really see things changing any time soon unfortunately

I hope it wasn't in the Valley desu

Rural midwest.

I live on €1600/month and that's pretty damn comfortable for me. Got pretty much exactly €1000 left after rent and all the bills.

Sounds good, but isn't life there boring as fuck?

I'm on 4chinz I don't go outside much. I entertain myself perfectly fine at home. I do have outside hobbies I engage in a few times a year like fishing/hunting/barbecuing/travelling so there's that.

Good for you then anon, I hope you can get to keep living the way you want

You live with your parents or share an apartment? It must be basically impossible to live in London with that

I'm poor and can barely get a job at a fucking fast food restaraunt. I'm working at learning coding but I'm pretty depressed thinking about my future prospects. I don't know if things will ever get better.

It's only going to go downhill from here

I'm working at learning coding but I'm pretty depressed thinking about my future prospects.

I would reconsider.
As recent as 5 years ago learning coding and going into an IT career was a good career choice to make decent money in Poland but the job market for ITcels went bust and now getting a job with no experience is extraordinarily difficult. If it's like that in Poland (an incredibly CHEAP country to hire people) I can't imagine what it would be like in France.

When I talk to young people hired at the company I'm contracted with that in 2017 I got a job in this industry with a decent starting salary with no formal education or training merely on the virtue of ricing linux desktops on Anon Babble they all pop their eyes in disbelief. I will freely admit that my salary is not world class or even very competetive in this field but I'm not a very competetive person and I have earned very stable job that don't lose sleep over and at 33 euros an hour after tax I bring home more money in a month than some of my friends in half a year.

The world I grew up with and remember fondly died in 2020/2021 with covid, it's really depressing.

Ow lawd

I've applied to over 100 minimum wage jobs in 6 months and gotten nothing
Had two interviews and crickets
I feel like the system won't reward me if I put effort in so why bother trying to stop being a parasite? I'm not an idiot nor am I insane
Instead I put my effort in things which actually reward you for your efforts, namely studying Latin and Ancient Greek

In Romanian, we either type the currency (euro, francs, dollars...), put the symbol after the number, or if we mean thousands we put the "k" after the number then the symbol/name of the currency.
For some reason, we don't have abbreviation(s) for thousands (except that k), millions, miliards, trilliards etc.

The kernel convention {symbol currency}{number} is definitely specific with the United States, not universal.

70%-80% of the world are wrong and you already knew that.

affordable housing, decent wages?

just like enjoy poverty bro, stop being so entitled

Every day my hatred for boomers grows stronger.

Same

I'm a 30 year old NEET with ZERO work experience and basically no education. I would never find anything worth doing monetarily speaking, so I'll just NEET until the end of my life. It's not like I wanted to be born, so others have to take the responsibility for forcing me into this gay ass world

I despise you

Based.
60k here as well. But I live in the middle of the country where rent isn't COMPLETELY fucked. And the job better be nice at that rate too.

neets, highschoolers, or anyone trying to make good money: find a 2 year Precision Machining course. Here in Missouri (Misery) they START at around $30 an hour ($4,800/month), that's with no experience and 2 years of school, and they will hire you while you're still in the program because there is a desperate need for people who know how to use CAD and program the machines. It's not a back breaking trade or a back breaking desk job either, perfect blend of activity.

I am so glad I found a clean office job where I code stuff. Lots of others failed and it was really hard but I made it

the job situation is insane and politicians suck up to corporates when they demand cheap labour from the third world

I was making $280k/year working for Bezos before I quit and it was absolutely not worth it.

At his point I'd rather move to the middle of a forest and try to survive foraging berries

Van life. Im starting this summer.

why are you guys importing so many third worlders anyways? aren't you practically thirdie tier

Bragging about living there

Grim

got a backbreaking wagie job just so I could stop neeting, but this is horrible, I need to learn a skill.

quitting or working for bezos?
