i spend $50 on some wine concentrate, mix it into 4 gallons of water, and ferment it for a month
shit gets me wasted as hell, my best one yet was black currant wine

please elaborate, wanted to get into it myself but I don't know where to start

get one of these at basically any big store, buy a stopper/bung with a hole in it, get a plastic tube that fits into the hole and stick the other end into like a vase full of water or something (most people use airlocks but this is way more convenient because it takes much longer for the water to evaporate and you wont have a mess if the foam escapes)
and if you just get a long enough tube for the airlock you can cut it in half to use as a syphon to pour your drinks or bottles

this vinter's best stuff should be available in most countries but it uses a little bit of corn syrup in order to make it easier to ferment, not really a deal breaker if you cant find anything better though
but most concentrates should be around the same price point to make 5 gallons worth of wine, just look around online
for yeast get basically any condom sized packet wine yeast that sells for almost nothing, i just have a pile of them laying around and its way better than bread yeast
trying mead will lead you to an empty wallet and dissapointment unless you're prepared to spend half a year aging it, meanwhile you can enjoy a good wine even while its fermenting
