marry merry mary
IPA transcription for these?
it's just pronounced as an o, why do you need a special letter for it
Not useless at all. It's used for example when denoting when to pronounce [s] and when [z] when forming the plural or dividing a word into syllables. Obviously we can't use the letter Z for that as that is always a [ts], as it is in Italian and in Ancient Greek.
ßuß
for you
No it isnt
if it's true then how come Swiss ppl manage to survive without ß?
They don't. Behold!
Masse (mass) - Maße (measurements)
Buße (fine) - Busse (busses)
In writing, Swissfags cannot distinguish between those too and the resulting confusion has plunged them into an age of darkness resulting in countless deaths.
useless garbage letter
why do you need a special letter for it
to oppress and harass Finns who have to spend 10 seconds more to copy&paste this letter from Swedish wikipedia when translating stuff like street names to Swedish which is for some reason an official language in their country
Straf3e

No one understands them anyway so it doesn't matter if their orthography is functional
Straſʒe
Many European languages (including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish) used to write and print ß up into the early 1800s. I can't understand that they are so removed from their own past that everybody in those countries seems to have forgot about it.
Na, but it's a "long s" mixed with an ß
it's because printing was invented in Germany and it was German printers who spread it all over Europe, bringing their own spelling customs with themselves
polisher confused at sz

It never made much sense.
Oh they also use a Dollar symbol in its place and don’t replace it with a Pound one. For whatever bizarre reason they use both.

This is perfectly useful for coding tho
I switch to the default (US English) keyboard for coding because to get {[]} I need to press AltGr + a key, while on the English keyboard it's just a single key. (They don't have äöüß.)
