I am a proud Appenzeller, except I’m neither proud nor a native son of either of the Appenzells. My grandmother is an Appenzellerin, and my father was born there, but grew up on the other side of the country before spending most of his adult life and eventually dying abroad. Neither he nor I ever spoke the local dialect out there accurately; he sounded more like a Basler and I now sound like a Bebbi who is also somehow an immigrant.

Snakes dont really bother you if you dont anger them in the wild. I live in highly urbanised kuala lumpur tho, not much snakes here. A quick question : what do russians do when the see a bear in the wild ?

My mom regularly goes to one of the most bear-filled places in the world and she brings special bear whistles and bear electrocution guns but happily she never had to use one
