Americans of Anon Babble where in Europe are your families from?

My dad's people are from east Tennessee and my mom's are from Pennsylvania.

My parents are Russian. They were both born in Chelyabinsk.

Hispania

I am pure Anglo-Celtic.

Please, tell you know more than this...

Germany and Austria

My family's been here long enough that I don't acknowledge any connections to the Old Word.

So Britain?

how long?
I know the exactly dates when my kin came to Brazil (from 1851 to 1913).
You would be surprised how easy is to get this information after you get good at genealogy.

England, Wales, France, Italy

I was told my family was Scottish but apparently we are just Anglo-Celtic. I’m like 92% from England, even tells me the specific villages and the rest is French/German according to 23andme

On my moms side Ireland, Britain, and Austria. On my dad's side Swiss and Scottish

my kin came to Brazil (from 1851 to 1913).

From where?

Father's side: English and Norman French via Canada
Mother's side: Italian and Scottish

(OP) #

Hispania

My dad is Melungeon, which includes Native so his people have been here for 20,000 to 12,000 years.
My mom is Penn Dutch and Old Stock so that's back to the 1600s.

Ireland, Scandinavia and northern italy

Melungeon

however, many families also had varying amounts of Native American and East Indian ancestry

Brother?

northern European dna overlaps a lot. Really not a precise way to know were you come from.
Father side is mostly from north bohemia with a dutch couple in the middle, and my mom side can be described as "poor people living around the rhine". Both sides of the rhine...

This only making your research more fun.

They're mountain mutts, usually black/native/old stock triracials that were excluded from southern society for being mixed.

Melungeons are Triracial, just like Cajuns and Creoles. I think most whites in Appalachia have some melugeon blood

i am judeo-scottish

I think most whites in Appalachia have some melugeon blood

Not most but a good portion do.
Many people from there are Melungeon but unaware of it, like JD Vance.

Mine is precise because it shows the villages, the Scottish confusion came because of the church my family belonged to. My family came to America in 1768. I even have some mixed black family members who live in the south kek. Pretty crazy how everyone in America prior to influx of Elis islanders was related in a way

Pretty crazy how everyone in America prior to influx of Elis islanders was related in a way

What do you mean?

Pretty crazy how everyone in America prior to influx of Elis islanders was related in a way

yeah, i had read how widespread the descendants of Mayflower are in modern america.

I probably share a Mayflower ancestor with my next door neighbor.
It's not that uncommon.

Yeah, very strange place. Honestly without segregation I think more of those triracial communities would’ve formed all over America since they were isolated. Poor Scots-Irish, native Americans and freed slaves who all were escaping the Anglo menace . Louisiana was the same way before the United States took over

ItalianX, Jews, Slavs and other euros coming over ruined classical ameircan culture. You know, the folk tunes, southern bell culture, northern liberal intellectuals etc
The only groups that properly integrated were Germanics
Yeah virtually everyone was related in America, from the blackest slave to the whitest richest Anglo to the Native American tribesmen. There was a distinct culture, similar to Brazil. I think things would’ve been better if the flood gates never opened up because racial tensions were going away and you had rich blacks, natives etc assimilating into Anglo culture, especially in the North.

These groups got displaced and lost their jobs to Italians and Irish and now Mexicans are taking those jobs

Louisiana was the same way before the United States took over

Full of those creole people?

It was like French Brazil, less racial more based of class and rooted in Catholicism

IDK man, people exaggerate a lot when they are talking about things from the past.
Mixed marriages between slaves and europeans were not common (if not illegal). What did happen (and we have records of it) was that some farmers decided to grow their own slaves in america, and because the cost to ship slaves from africa was the same for males and females, it was not profitable to ship females that would fetch a lower price in the market. So they resorted to import what UK had in excess. Irish and prostitutes (don't google what was the percentage of the female population involved in prostitution in London during victorian era and early).
This is how so many "half-breed" started to appear in farms out of nowhere.
We (actually Portuguese, my family was never involved with slaves because germans were not allowed to own slaves) did the same, but with natives. Farmers would sponsor raiding parties from bandeirantes to attack tribes and take the females to make more slaves (their life expectancy was really short and they cost a real fortune)

Union between natives and Europeans were very common tho.
There was simple too many males coming at once.

Germany, Britain, Scotland, and Ireland, but they've been in the Appalachia region since the 1600's and identify as an American, not a Euro.

Ellis Islander here im 100% Austrian-Hungarian but 0% Austrian and 0% Hungarian

This is not difficult at all. Your ancestors literally came from the most ethnic diverse place in Europe at the time.

From father's side they came from Altmark and from mother's side from Brandenburg. I always suspected jewish heritage from my mother's side, but so far I've found nothing to indicate it

I've managed to track back to 1720. After that the registers are gone.

I suppose I would need to travel back to their homelands to find more info, supposing it didn't got bombed in the many wars that plagued the region

Are you a catholic germanoid? Or one of the rare Czechs?

back to 1720

depending on what state you are form, this is a huge accomplishment.
1720 in RS was literally a couple of azorean villages and a fort in Rio Pardo.

Are you a catholic germanoid? Or one of the rare Czechs?

My father side is entirely catholic, but my mother is Lutheran, so my father decided to convert for several reasons that actually make a lot of sense.
Also, by what i found researching my genealogy tree, there is a lot of women in my father side of the tree with very czech surnames.
Unfortunately researching stuff from bohemia is really tiresome. The czech do have a really good archive (separated by regions), but reading it is another story. Some records are written in what a german priest from buttfuck nowhere perceive as latin in the 18 century using a fucking stick. There is also a lot of ink stains from the other side of the page that make me have a aneurysm.
A simple birth record can take me 2 days with help of a ocr and chatgpt (it's really good to pick up parts and figure out what may be written there)

brazilians

Bruh, i was just repply.
I really like those genealogy threads, so i try my best to keep them alive.

Brazilians are more white than Americans.

white americans are more european than white brazilians, but black brazilians are more european than black americans
