Horvat, the most common croatian last name is also the most common last name in slovakia. Most surnames in the north part of croatia are also present or can be traced to czechia and poland. Also a majority of them are shared between croatia and slovenia. Eastern and southern croatia have last names present in eastern slavic countries and serbia.

Culture is heavily based off of pagan folklore, same as superstitions and other common beliefs. I think the part we differ from slavs are cuisine, Croatia is very influenced by hungarian cuisine, with a little bit of turkish cuisine creeping in from Bosnia. The coast obviously has mediterranean cuisine mostly limited to seafood dishes because you wont really be eating genuine carbonara in dalmatia.

Croatia is sort of a regional shitshow even moreso than Italy but applied to a tiny amount of people because of the crazy biodiversity and influences from major powers surrounding it.
