Yes this happens usually with any medication but I think it's better for GAD compared to benzos and you could theoretically take it for much longer periods compared to benzos without having to deal with benzo withdrawals even if it has its own withdrawals and dependence if you mess with it especially recreationally in very big doses

You will usually build up some resistance to medications over time, which will gradually make you raise your doses. On the other hand, meditation has no such drawbacks as it does not directly affect your body, so you can keep on practicing it for as long as you remember to do it consistently. I know the psychiatrist whom I went to for ADHD treatment told me to meditate/practice "mindfulness" as a legitimate, safe form of self-treatment with proven positive effects.
