Yes, I'm making a separate thread for this petty question. Yes, an actually interesting thread died just because I created this thread instead of simply asking in a general. Yes, I will also keep bumping it for five hours more if nobody responds, that is, responding precisely what I want to hear.
What are the reasons to learn French?
8%
erm, I thought Poccnr was meant to be the based trad saviors of the west??
2nd greatest literary tradition
Napoleon
To larp as a 19th century St Petersburg aristocrat of course
%
This estimate might even bee to high, I've also seen 4% and even 2% of observant Christians.
the based trad saviors of the west
Of course no, all the actual trad based saviours of the West are on the right side of the picture. Christianity is Western and not Middle Eastern after all, right?
Your language is full of French loanwords which are written phonetically, which looks sort of awful.
Polish was also full of them, but we never wrote them phonetically, same for Latin loanwords.
Unfortunately Bolsheviks were unable to replace them like our romanticists.
I had to learn German and French because i live 30 minutes away from these assholes. Why would you learn a language when you are never going to use it?
I've done an actual genealogical research and most of my ancestors were peasants and virtually all were former serfs, mostly from Ukraine or regions associated with Ukraine. Many were in the Communist party since the very beginnings of it. I have nothing to do with aristocracy.
2nd greatest literary tradition
What books?
Napoleon
A degenerate dictator rat who destroyed his own country and killed like 90% of its population? Meh.
which looks sort of awful
Why? I wonder, the French were the first in Europe to standardize their language and exterminate the dialects, why weren't they able to make their language phonetic alongside that?
I'm currently learning German because I plan to immigrate to Germany. Then I plan to immigrate to Switzerland (or Austria) from there so some French may be useful (or may not lol). I have 5 more years of suffering here to receive a degree which is quite enough to add some other language to German despite not really needing anything else at the time.
Why'd you leave Russia now Putin is raising the country from its knees.
Because this country is poorer than Mexico and R-words are utter subhumans. Why ask rhetorical questions? It's correct though that the life became better than in the 2000s (yes the 2000s not the 1990s) when people were literally starving.
Nobody wants Russians in their country anymore. Stay there.
French loanwords which are written phonetically, which looks sort of awful.
No, it's the unphonetic French writing that looks awful. What an idiotic take.
Polish was also full of them, but we never wrote them phonetically, same for Latin loanwords.
We do write them phonetically, what are you on about? We write -icja not -itia, and szwoleżer-lansjer, not chevaux-leger lancieur, yes?
Are you having a stroke?
Stay mad.
Stay home.
attend "church"(Voodoo tent) = go to heaven
Why are atheists and pagans are so retard?
I'll be returning to my home, Europe.
Cope. You only have to stop washing your hands and believe that rabbi Yeshua ben Yosef, a Palestinian Arab, will soon (just two weeks more) go from the sky and take you back with him alongside Mbongo.
money is fake retard
Oh it's time for a bump.
Well sort of. Dollar went from 50 to 100 rubles in a year.
so what? what do u even need the dollar for? as far as I know russia is capable of sourcing factory input and manufacturing anything on its own, sadly poland cannot do the same so we are nowhere near as free as russia in its geo political gambles
Literally everything is imported here. When you think of Russia, think of Mexico or Brazil, we have comparable income.
I've seen russian supermarkets on the internet and it's not true
I had a mood switch like 15 minutes ago so this trolling is not funny for me anymore please stop anon. We both know you're better than us, that's why I want to escape this land, I didn't do nothing and I refuse to take the blame, please spare me, pan.
darn troll
What books?
The great bawdy literature of the 19th century, a couple of unhinged liberals and Maupasant
This way you can leave Poccia for France
It has no meaning because it's both easier and more rewarding to leave it for Germany. My original thought was to target the US and left a Mediterranean country (either Spain or Italy) learning a Romance language (because I know Latin well) as a plan B but it was a very bad one.
So what books? Like, titles?
Kek, great image
supposed "heaven" is filled to the brim with stinky brownoids
And a cope had already been dropped, wait for more:
Against nature by Huysmans and Baudelaire's flowers of evil.
After that you can switch back to good literature
you can switch back to good literature
In what language?
Note: Maupasant was mentionted as an actual good author
English, and you can already read russian
You want suggestions for english language books?
My favorites are Kipling, Hawthorne, Conrad, Waugh, Poe, Melville, Hardy and some essayists like Emerson and Samuel Johnson
Anon I was asking about books in French that are worthy learning French for. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding, I'm broke now.
Yes, Maupasant and Montaigne's essays.
I'm suspecting Balzac and Stendhal must also be good writers but haven't read them yet
And does either really worth learning French?
Not really lol.
Maupasant has been translated competently into english.
Montaigne has NOT. You can tell something is off, so reading him in french would be an advantage.
However I don't know if it's worth learning an entire language for.
He's got about 1500 pages worth of essays in a pondering, introspective style.
He talks about everythig from historical figures to what constitutes a good breakfast.
you can learn it so that you can cringe at the brutish pronunciations of french loanwords
I've already learnt Classical Latin so I rather cringe at barbaric pronunciations of Romance languages.
Oh. Sad.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH I DONT WANT TO BE HERE FOR FIVE YEARS MORE TAKE ME AWAY TAKE ME AWAY TAKE ME AWAY PLEASE AAAAAAAAAAAAHH
I hear this alot but like isnt most of whats worth reading of French lit translated to English already?
