The cost of living in my country is too damn high

Practically the same price here. I rarely drink scotch THO when you can get a decent bourbon for the same price or cheaper.

americans can buy $5 liquor at 3am while homeless, you do not suffer

Buy bottom shelf stuff. There's no way at that price that pic related is bottom shelf.

It's like half the price here. What happened to the alcoholic Anglo spirit?

It's like half the price here

This, and it's not even good.

This is our bottom shelf, yank slop is the cheap stuff here

lel, was about to say that. $50 for a litre of spirits seems average to me based on how much I'm used to seeing grog being sold for. The pricey shit is more like $100 a bottle.

It's okay for a cheap blended scotch imo. Definitely better than the cheapest Lidl rotgut for 7€

Bundaberg is the most insulting, theres no reason why sugar syrup from the factory down the road needs to be $100 a bottle. I think we as a nation just hate ourselves

I buy this for 3$

I'd love to try russki rye. I mean in principle, picrels probably only slightly better than breaking fluid

Is somebody actually going to pay $50 dollarydoos for 1L of dogshit Southern Comfort? It’s not even whiskey

yes, me

That's 30 bucks, it's manageable

meanwhile 4L jug for $20 USD

come home alcoholic man

Alive and well here, friend

whisky in plastic bottle

not even we stooping that low for three bucks

If that's AUD then it's about the same price here, Sainsbury's have it on sale for 34 dollarydoos atm though

did someone say cheap liquor?

Jesus Christ, Australia is hell on earth. But meth is at least extremely available and popular, right?

jew....

Just make your own alcohol. No idea how you make scotch but we make wine here and it's pretty easy

That's not bottom shelf go to a discount liquor store for cheap liquor rather than online
You can get cheap whiskey bottle for like $7

My local liquor store chain puts shit on a clearance rack and often has some pretty crazy deals on stuff that isn’t selling. Picked up like 5 1.75L handles of Tanqueray Vodka for like $5 each.

we dont have these

Making scotch or any other whiskey would require distilling and aging which is not practical at home for most people. You can forgo the aging, which is basically moonshine.
But while homebrewing beer and wine is legal in most countries, distilling is often not legal without some kind of license.

Imagine paying that for literal slop lmao

$47.99 for 1L for Smirnoff

Holy fuck man thats $21 AUD here

What the smallest/cheapest you can get?
Here they usually keep the small cheap stuff behind the counter

Sometimes I head down to Trader Joes and get 1.75L of vodka for $10

Damn you should open a distillery

I wish it was 1850 and I could start an alcohol smuggling operation

why do most alcoholics prefer vodka?

hey anon, are you going to the speakeasy later tonight?

least calories, can be mixed with pretty much anything, doesnt have additives that cause worse hangover than normally and also can be pretty easily drank straight out of the bottle
those are my reasons at least

I hate most alcohol but vodka taste pretty neutral compared to beer or wine.

cheap and they think people can't smell it on them

you can mix it with anything and no one will catch on that you're boozing in public
