I can't understand it
Why does this have value?
why does normal money have value?
I missed the bull run boys...
It was at 60 a few weeks ago and I threw my whole savings (30k) in because I thought for sure it would go up soon. Then I sold the next day because I got cold feet after I made $100 :(
usually money have countries/companies behind it
Because people want to buy it
i feel you
i bought a lot of chainlink in 2017 and sold it for around 2 euros......
i did make money but if i hadnt sold early and waited i would be rich
also kind of missed this bull run since pretty much all my money in crypto is in monero.....
might start gambling with futures at this point
exactly and part of the allure of bitcoin and other crypto that is used for transactions is that it's decentralized and not controlled by such entities
because people think it does
it's just fiat currency but backed by mass delusion instead of a national military
CIA psyop
exactly and part of the allure of bitcoin
yeah good luck ever paying with bitcoin on real life shit like mortgages and real estate or even groceries when its value fluctuates so sharply
basically it's just another stock as of now, and its price is always tied to the performance of the overall market
im not saying i fully believe it but you have to remember that people are willing to spend money to buy dreams and concepts that might never become reality
i personally dont care that much about the real world utility
as long as i can buy my drugs with crypto and make some money thats good enough for me
Speculation.
sure but when you describe it like that then bitcoin sounds like a pyramid scheme, hell even most of it is held by a handful of people/companies
Because blackrock and other such entities say it does
because is a currency not controlled by jews.
that's why is now 90k.
because is a currency not controlled by jews.
you are so naive it's cute
because a lot of people think it does
heh
also the most based shitcoin (KASPA) has Israeli devs. and it's gone 10x since last summer. gracias.
tell me how can the goverments shutdown or try to pass laws to control it?
But le blackrock has money
Which has no effect on it.
Blackrock can't pass laws about bitcoin.
The american goverment can't regulate it.
the only time bitcoin was used for transactions (12 years ago) was Silk Road and it was shut down because literal glowies entrapped and arrested its founder.
now the fees + confirmation time mean no one uses it for transactions. Its only used for speculation, which the government can again regulate because all major exchanges are willing to obey the US federal government, and you can't speculate without an exchange.
there are defi exchanges, retard.
kind of true but in some deep web markets btc is still an option and some people use it because they are too retarded to research what they are doing
btc is antiquated and slow + it has those high fees so using it is not really worth it when you have better options
personally i buy ltc and convert it to monero for my *cough* purchases *cough*
(cont'd.) basically the problem is you are thinking of the docile, play-by-the-rules aspect of the US federal government, which is constrained by precedent and constitutionality.
The cutthroat ZOG aspect of the government has no problem getting its hands dirty when it needs to.
If bitcoin is too decentralized to regulate normally, then if they want to regulate it they'll just take out all the necessary individuals in descending order of importance. That's why CZ is in prison despite being worth $57 billion.

Mainly money laundering, but also drug dealing.
State
It's not currency. A currency necessarily needs to be issues my a state, in one way or another
and if those defi exchanges were buyers' only option, bitcoin would be trading at like 2 cents.
when one out of the 4 major centralized exchange went down, the price crashed like 75%, and only recovered when the other CEXs slowly brought people back.
yes but if that was the only thing people did with bitcoin, and they didn't buy and sell it on centralized exchanges, and globohomo billionaires like the WInklevii and Blackrock and Saylor and Musk never touched it, it would be trading at rock bottom.
Easy. Simply make it illegal to turn bitcoin into fiat currency.
Boom suddenly all major players will abandon the ship

OP question was what is the real value of bitcoin.
The real value is that it can't be fully controlled by americans unlike the dollar and euro.
doesn't matter how many people americans put in jail.
They can't put north koreas in jail, or chinese, or iranians or russians that use bitcoin, in jail.
It allows shady business to act like banks without following the regulations banks should have
They can because bitcoin is mainly traded in dollar
but those people don't buy enough to pump the price to these levels.
in fact those people don't buy it at all, they mine it! They're on the sell side! Do you see what I mean?
North Koreans mine bitcoin and immediately sell it to willing buyers in western markets. They don't pump the price.
Now if you mean that the Americans who buy bitcoin buy it because they believe in decentralized trustless P2P stores of value, and they don't trust the American dollar, then I totally agree with you.
But the power is still in the hands of the Americans to pump or dump the price.
also there's some cosmic irony of you talking this way about an anonymous decentralized currency while namefagging, lol
what do the small players though that have spent the last decade consuming anti central banking propaganda?
Small players don't have capital
dont need much capitol to stop capitol from accumulating
It’s the reserve currency for chuds who are mad they can’t breed
Bitcoin is backed by the virtual realm
have a quick read of link related

Multi-level marketing is what is is, and there are very many levels here and easy to catch noobs.
That's just another way of saying that lots of people perceive it to have value
Imagine a currency that uses electricity to be mined and minted. That's the main productive force in the world right now, I could not think of a better model for exchange if I tried. It's instant, it's digital, there's no third parties to worry about. How can you not see it leading to great things?
CZ was arrested for not preventing money laundering on Binance. His website is notorious for shitcoins, it's ironic because he's a Bitcoin maxi while hosting another platform.
