Until around 2013 there was really no political right in Brazil. Even in the late 70s a political magazine remarked only two congressmen would describe themselves as centre-right and none as right proper. There were outsiders like Enéas and Bolsonaro, but they were non-entities. There were of course right-leaning political parties such as the PP, but they were all part of the centrist establishment (centrão) and many of them supported the Workers' Party administraiton.
