As a French speaker, German is the easiest language to pronounce. Most German sounds (r, ä, ö, ü, etc.) already exist in French, so we can pronounce German without any effort.

As an English speaker, English is the easiest language to pronounce. We don't know if we're French, German or Latin so we take out any sounds it's hard to pronounce, and we are genetically unable to remember how to pronounce vowels, so we just pronounce them however we feel like at the time.

One aspect of EFLs I find funny is how they usually try to pronounce actual French words.
Despite French being related to English. most put 0 effort into it and just try to pronounce them like English words.
German speakers on the other hand from what I've seen generally at least try to pronounce them in a French way even if it's wrong.

Honestly, I have rarely heard this from EFL people who can speak French. To be able to speak French decently takes a while, and by that point, people usually know what to do to get a reasonable sound. If you mean just a couple of French words the average normie knows, then sure, they don't even comprehend the idea that a letter can represent a different sound. I'd have to say that ESLs, and especially French are terrible for doing this when they speak English though. There's a reason the French accent exists, that's because they don't try to get the sounds right at all. They have much greater knowledge since English is everywhere and they should know better really. Always pisses me off when ESLs don't even try to get a decent English accent but it's expected the other way around.

why don't these frenchies just speak it plain?

really though, hors d'oeuvres is indefensible not just in pronunciation but linguistically, that one phrase reveals a deep-seated cultural mental illness...
