The food is mid

Name 1 Horvat dish.

I like Italian-American more.

american food is the best in the world

Sicilian food is bad. Italian lentil dishes are bad. But nukka, your kind eats juha sa štrukljima and sarma and shit like that

spaghetti & meatballs are da bomb
but it's gotta be with Italian sausage

blud I live not that far away from your country and I can't even name a dish from over there

I like it

Sicilian food is bad.

I like arancini

both are more soulful and taste miles better.
the slovene just named two. we also have plenty hungarian dishes and theyre much better than any italian dish

italy does not even share a land border with croatia kek

you can't put pastry in soup, that's not how cooking works...and especially not when that pastry is Slovenian!

100% agree
like pasta is nice and all, but idk, maybe think of something OTHER than just grain, tomato and cheese
most BORING cuisine in the world for sure

Dalmazia è italiana

PORCA MADONNA YOU DID NOTTA CALL MY NONNAS PASTA MID

štrukli is a zagorje dish but you can call it slovenian, were the same people and theres no natural border between us

we have different dishes though, foreigners obsess over pasta and pizza like retards

That's actually Italian, not Italian-American.
It was created when Italians during WWII had to use American rations to cook.
Still objectively good too. Idk why you thought posting it would be a counter point.

I made shrimp alfredo last week...easy peasy, but my hands smelled like seafood something awful for a while afterward!

good dalmatian dishes are roast lamb, purely dinaric

shitty dalmatian dishes are pasta fagioli kek

nah actually most pasta dishes are the only good food from italy. the cheese is good too. but their other food is just mid and repetative and doesnt have much flavor. also its too expensive.

well they originate in Graz but eating štruklji is far more common in Slovenia than it is in Croatia. It's like žganci, it's just more typically Slovenian!

pašta fažol is pretty bad ngl, along with mineštra and šporki makaruli. Eastern Adriatic food is not that great. Buzara dishes excepted.

gelato?

shush. theres more croats living in north croatia than there is slovenes in the whole country.

idk where this myth that croats are meds comes from. less than 1/3 of us live on the coast.

also jota, which is from Trieste. Slop.

There's like 300k people north of Medvednica. Zagreb is Hercegovinian/Dalmatian.

doesnt have much flavor

nigger tier opinion, the best dishes are the ones where you can taste the fresh ingredients not three hundred different spices

Osso buco

Bistecca alla Fiorentina

Braciole

Any Ragu recipe

And that's not even mentioning any desserts. You need to up your game anon, you sound like those retards who think gyros is all there is to Greek cuisine.

Sicilian food is bad.

said no one ever.

okay. the truth is that 99% italian restaurants are just overpriced with tiny portions. some of their food is actually good.

but not all, most really is mid.

Sicilian pizza is gas oven granny pizza, just an abomination.

sicily has almost no good dishes unironically
it's all deep fried slop

that information is simply false

was ment for

they eats lots of fish tho

Not my fault if you only know street food.

yeah
deep fried fish slop

I skipped lunch today

Stop fighting!

there's no towns of even medium size in Zagorje, the local dialect is dying out...the heart of Croatia is Split, not Varaždin.

Isn't Pesce alla Ghiotta from Sicily?

name one good sicilian dish

yeah and you cook it in an insane amount of oil
Piedmontese cuisine is unironically better and more balanced

What about pizza?

pasta con le sarde

Oh my god a fucking Slovenian

Swordfish skewers.

sicilian pizza was the inspiration for the chicago deep dish...che schifo!

name another one
not a real dish

A lot of Piedmondese dishes feel like they should be French

(You)

I had vitello tonatto once and I immediately regretted it

Im surprised you dod not take credit for the food, like saying it is Slovenian

what happened?

we do have focaccia (pogača) tho, like the rest of ex-Yu, it used be very widespread among the peasantry in the 19th century

well it's cold tuna steak served in a slightly fruity white sauce, which is not my idea of good eating

Those foods are not from Slovenia. Stop taking credit for stuff Slovenia did not make.

wienerschnitzel and fried chicken are also typically Slovenian, and at least the former is originally from Milano

your statement is equivalent to saying the heart of italy is naples. if anything dalmatian culture especially split is long gone. the čakavski dialect is completely dead except in istria which is closer to varaždin than to split lmao, the dalmatian culture exists only on islands with a tiny population of grandpas. there is no industry there, only tourism. drug use is completely rampant and rent price is through the roof.

not to mention dalmatians are barely croats to begin with, but people living in split are serbs and herzegovians anyway.

Stop spreading that Slovenian propaganda. Those foods did not come from Slovenia.

if you want to taste Slovenian food you can just go to Wisconsin, basically

Your mom is mid

what's with slavs and hating Italy

Yes. They don’t really use spices, it’s abysmal. That said, I think they do desserts better than the French.

IMG_5447.jpg - 1004x1011, 90.75K

you eat boiled buckwheat and raw onions as national dishes

Dont listen to them. If you go to Sicily go there to eat as much real local food as possible, and do nothing else even. Maybe walk around to burn some calories. Im serious

I think they do desserts better than the French.

they don't, the French are the best in the world at pastries, cakes and baked goods

Imo germans are better at cakes. Italy lacks cakes but we have quite a few ubermensch desserts like cannoli and tiramisu

true, I do like cannoli

Raw onions are a Serbian grill thing. The boiled buckwheat FLOUR is supposed to be consumed with sausage and sauekraut, though.

they mog Balkan slop hard

You say this like it’s objectively true. Thats not how this stuff works.. it comes down to preference and what you’re used to.
Italian desserts are great because they use deeper flavours like anise and coffee. Nothing is ever overwhelmingly sweet which I love.

Pastry is great however often I find French desserts to be too rich and sweet.

the French are the best in the world at pastries, cakes and baked goods

They're unironically mogged by you. Nobody beats the British when it comes to desserts.

Banoffee.jpg - 1200x1800, 115.52K

thanks

that dish is underrated

I like that its name is just exactly what it is. Banoffee pie.. banana.. toffee.. pie.
Surprisingly unpretentious for an English dessert.

French desserts tend to be more artsy and complicated, ours are more simple
