I just noticed there are only about 0.6 jobs for every college graduate in S.Korea. How on earth are they surviving?

I just noticed there are only about 0.6 jobs for every college graduate in S.Korea. How on earth are they surviving?

I have been told many times they are richer than us, but is this why I see so many of their international students around me in my uni?

I'm just living off in my parents' apartment which is located in Gangnam, and it's comfy I don't wanna get a job.

You understand that being able to study abroad takes money so most foreign students are from an upper or upper middle class background in their home country.

I was gonna say that they should have way more people retiring each year than graduating but that's probably not true since SK was still kind of a shit-hole 40 years ago compared to now.

based neet, mirin' birthrates

I was wondering they are sending so many international students here because its that hard for them to find work in their own country despite being supposedly wealthy.

Being a foreign student from a first world country to a first world country means you are a rich brat that goes to an extended vacation. You got it backwards.

you mean like gangnam style

Even for those are currently in their 40s, who are said to have been the most economically disadvantaged people in post war Japan, it seems that it wasnt that difficult to find job. Their suffering is still a massive social issue, and do you realize that a similar or even worse crisis will arise in a few decades in your country as well?

Wrong. You are so wrong there are 0.2 office jobs for graduates. Unlike japanese people we study a lot of tests and get many certifications before graduation and then if we are lucky, we can get an interview. Also the interview process is soul killing as well. We do this 30 times before getting a job.

Also the part where you hear that we are richer than you is this. We kill zombie companies unlike your country and kill employment for efficiency(after being slaved by IMF). So there are people who get well paid and get no paid at all.

The parents generations are boomers who have accumulated wealth through the booming economy like the dankai generation of your country. Korea is finished.

It is understandable that wealthy countries can afford to send students abroad for moratorium, but if that were the case, they would go to more exotic places with better economic prospects, such as North America or Europe, and wont seek job in my country.

Also korean companies stopped 公採 after 2019 so everyone is doomed at this point but yeah yall don't care shit.

I've been seeing some Koreans fled to Japan to finish their education curricula, and those Koreans meet the criteria below.

Rich parent

Being anticipated suck at Korean SAT

Socially awkward, might have been bullied if they were in Western societies.

Into Animation

公採

It was a distorted culture that existed strongly only in Korea. Corporate hiring in the United States relies much more on personal connections than it does in Korea. Always been.

It exists in japan as well.
Also I don't want to live in a society where connection is more important than personal competence. Don't say that is the normal.

Some articles say the job offering is around 0.6 per collage graduate, while others say it is even lower around 0.3. Now I get that the latter is talking about office work if your claim is right.

I hope war happens like ukraine or India so we can reduce the young male population in korea. That would be helpful for everyone at this point. And yes it's that bad.

I don't know about the other parts, but from my personal experience, the second point seems to be true. They all seem to have a strong grudge against the school education in their own country.

Op op oppa gangnam style
EYYYYYYYYYYYY SEXY LADY

Boring

You are now a boomer if you know that song btw. Times changed.

squid game

Yeah basically you have to score top 1~2 percent to enroll in top unis and get a chaebal office job.

You should kill old farts that run your dystonia rather than young men

If you are talking about recruiting new graduates en masse, that does exist here.

Yeah we stopped doing that after 2019.
The graduates now compete with 經歷者

Well basically I can't go full John wick and ((minecraft)) people? War is le solution.

Being an international student costs 3-10x more money than going to school in your own country. It literally means they have a lot of extra money to spend.

Korea has an inflated tertiary education rate, as a consequence of basically everyone goes to college. Even people who don't actually study go and do a bullshit degree in college.

So that statistic is pretty much just a fake statistic if applied to South Korea.

Bloody hyperbole bro. You can easily get to Lotte type Chaebal office jobs with the level of top 15% SAT score

If so, what is the actual ratio between job offering and the number of job seekers among youth?

because K-GDP (lol) is bullshit. Out of 29 million Korean wage earners

- 1.8 million elderly people make a living by collecting junk.
- 4 million are neets who do nothing.
- 7 million are self-employed, earn only $13,000 or less yearly.
- Most of them work for small and medium-sized enterprises anyway.
- 7.4% of young people are unemployed (Japan only 3.7%).
- 15.3% of workers don't receive the minimum wage (Japan only 2%).
- Unpaid wage cases are 14x higher than Japan.

Overtaking Japan is a bad joke, especially when their lifetime wage is only half of Japan.

I'm hikiNEETo.
Based NEETking

is this the Oppa Gangnam Style they were talkig about?

I don't take all these claims at face value, but having actually looked into some information myself, it does seem like there is some truth to them.

Don't worry, 10 more years and boomers will start dropping like flies, there will be so many jobs up for grabs it'll be insane

The majority of neets in SK are female, the opposite of Japan. There's no shame in being a female neet.

Yes I know
It happened 13 years ago, actually crazy ;_;

Is that actualy true

You remember when Korea was supposed to be developed country? Me neither.
