After the Victory Parade I went to the museum, there was an exhibition on Alexander Kolchak and I want to share some photos with you.
Muravyov-Amursky Irkutsk Local History Museum
Here we can see copies of the document declaring Siberian Republic as now a part of Kolchak's Russia. Also we can see some medals and shit and epaulete of Siberian army
Museum has old Siberian flag here
This flag was gifted to sailors of Baltic Fleet
Photographs of Kolchak
The hall dedicated to Kolchak is over, and we move to the hall dedicated to the history of Siberia. The museum has a reconstruction of the office of Muravyov-Amursky, who was the Governor-General of Eastern Siberia, and it is he who is named after the museum.
This stands tell us about history of Orthodox Christianity in Siberia, but thanks to compression you can't read shit here.
Alright you guys don't care about Siberian culture? Fine. Stay ignorant.
This is pretty cool, full decorated rooms like that are always the comfiest part of any museum
There was also this huge physical map of Siberia
Old Russian chainmail, weapons and tools
Neat! What's the projection screen in the background for?
The museum manager lady said that the information about the map should be projected there, but their projectors are broken and they can't find the parts they need.
This is a verry good thread. nice
Chinese weapons
Map of people's that lived in Siberia and some of their stuff too. Good loot?
Some Buddhist and Muslim religious items, from cultures that Orthodox missionaries encountered in their travels
"'The Disarming of the Kolchakovites'."
Or something. Whatever.
That's all photos that I made
Thank you for sharing :)
:3
this was a good start to my day
Also bought Kodac polaroid like camera for my parents and tried it out some
I feel sorry for people who live in remote parts of the world where civilization only came so late so all their museums are only about recent events and there isn't anything about let's say the medieval era.
Applies to New Worlders as well
Bought this for young ones, they don't teach them local lore in fed schools apparently
I'd rather have no history at all, exist in absence of time, than for my land to have history such as Poland had.
That book is brand new...
Thanks for sharing.
I'd love to buy this. Wish I could visit Russia
