Dad usually comes home around 19:00, mom starts cooking around that time so dad can shower and relax a bit before eating.
UNLESS it's summer and vacation time. Then dad (and often uncle) will grill enough food every night to feed a small village.

Normal for us. In winter it's dark until around 10:30 or later depending on how north we are located (or no daylight all in the extreme) and dark again by 14:00. So it's not like we can adjust working hours to fit daylight.

i wake up, go to work, get home, eat dinner and then the time from 16 to midnight is my free time. not interrupted by anything, i can go out with the boat or hike some mountain. imagine how much it must suck to suddenly have dinner to break up this free time? it just sound so crap.

hasnt catched up on me so far. 7 hours of quality sleep is plenty enough for a nornal adult, i often get a 30min nap after dinner as well.
the constantly changing daylight hours fuck you up a bit, i sleep more during winter but once it starts to get light all day the need for sleep gets reduced.
