Lack of musical talent
They can into other things tho, books (not talking about midzai) or games for example

They remake cute bossa nova songs

you will never be Japanese
I've scoured three Japanese playlists on Spotify and all are filled with low-effort trash that a 12-year-old Britisher would make in their bedroom

??? They have a pretty robust music scene. One of my favorite artists REOL is Japanese.

Uh, j-pop freaking rocks. Look up Mariya Takeuchi.

If the mainstream shit isn't to your liking look up artcore stuff. It's tends to be pretty highly technical, and 99% Japanese.

Or if artcore is too "artificial" for you then look up a lot of the shit composed for Final Fantasy games. Their lead composer almost always has their own band.

There are like two nightclubs in all of Tokyo, and Shimokitazawa is dead by 9 PM. Yoasobi is the only group that people get hyped about.
Embarrassing for a country of 123M people.

Have you considered that maybe they just aren't as social a people to want to go to night clubs? Also that sounds made up anyways, got anything to back up the claims?

What do you consider "good" music OP? Please tell us so we can mock you for your taste as well.

I was in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago
Discord weebs were raving about the livehouse scene. There was nothing going on besides karaoke at 9:30 PM on Tuesday evening. Maybe it's livelier on weekends.

As a person who lived there I can almost assure you it would be. Japs don't do shit on weekday nights, too busy slaving away, or studying out their ass. But the ones that go out go out on the weekend, and they tend to have very little inhibition.

ok? how does it relate to the current subject?
Japan's music industry is still vastly superior to yours (if the primitive sounds you baboons make can even be called "music")

I am trying to learn to play the Shakuhachi
I would like to learn to play the Ryuteki and Shinobue as well

When I listen to this music I experience my Chinese heritage through this ancient music, it's so awesome

no way ancient music sounded like this
this has to be modernized, right?

The existence of K-On disproves your theory

Nah it's not really ancient, it comes from the Tang dynasty but it is probably the oldest continuous musical traditional in the world playing pretty much the same canon
Anyway it's not modernised although from what I understand, over the last 1000 years its tempo has slowed down a lot
Chinese musicologists use it to reconstruct Tang dynasty music since China never cared about preserving its music

What type of club do you mean by nightclub? If you lived in Japan, you would have seen the lively places even on weekday nights, right?

Japan is the host country of the Praemium Imperiale , the world's highest honor in music and arts

Our music would sound shit for Canadians who worship Justin Bieber as their national pride and the greatest musician in the history.

You must be deaf or (and) retarded.

Have you never played jrpgs

Jeets hands wrote this post

k popだけがアジアの音楽だと思うなよ

あと北朝鮮ですら音楽は存在する
勝手に日本は音楽に興味ないとか、決めつけんなや

You just proved my point
Koreans took your shitty excuse for “music” and made it 100x more appealing

Japanese niggas be like “let me play you the song of my people”
*plays Shinjuku station jingle*

I don't think "Japan makes bad music" has ever been a common take. This thread is literally just an excuse for people to post their personal favourites in response, not that there's anything wrong with the act itself, but the pretext is one of deceit.
