how does chinese university compare with an american university? do you have humanities classes? can you post your daily schedule as a uni student in china / singapore pls
Didn't say much. North Koreans are quiet. It wasn't until later that a Mexican played guitar here, and then they started singing classic Korean songs happily. There are also people who jokingly say in Korean long live Comrade Kim John. They weren't interested in it being a joke, they were happy. It feels like the Chinese 40 years ago. Give me a nostalgic feeling
Kappa looking ahh
Why are you hiding your face, it's not like anyone here can tell you apart
I mean, they didn't realize it was a joke. Then they laughed and shouted along with the others about Comrade Kim Jong-un Wansai
he has a south korean boyfried
Why are you hiding your face, it's not like anyone here can tell you apart
Interesting experience thank you for shareing.
Singapore university is the same as American uni, as both are based on the Prussian four-year liberal arts system. I have relatives who have humanities degrees with minors in gender studies, for example.
I went to university in the UK where it's more different as there are no minors.

did you go to the world famous raffles institution and then go to Oxford afterwards (did you know raffles is the single largest feeder school to oxford outside of the UK??)
I do not know. Humanities courses do have. It's just that I don't know much about American universities, and I think it may be very similar, because many of the Chinese university system is built by overseas Chinese who have returned to China
do you have any extracurricular organizations there? like fraternities or volunteer or hobby orgs?
are you in one?
So they're just regular people like everyone else. Not like what most media portray them as
did you know raffles is the single largest feeder school to oxford outside of the UK??
Yes and I went to RI's rival school which is the second largest feeder school to Oxford outside the UK.
Cambridge is more popular in Singapore though.
do you have any extracurricular organizations there? like fraternities or volunteer or hobby orgs

Welcome to the real world.
99,99% of bad things in a country are because of a select few people in power, most people are just like you and I.
interesting
what uni did you go to in UK?
thoughts on "elite" education in general? was it worth the effort, overrated, etc?

They are NOT normal people
That guy must be an elite in his country if he's allowed to leave
How does the propaganda taste, because you clearly eat loads of it
I have degrees from UCL and Imperial.
My opinion is very unpopular in Asia, but I view anything "elite" as a scam.
Yogi Berra said that in theory there's no difference between theory and practice, in practice there is. Elite education (and education in general) is just a rite of passage for the mismanagement class. Think people who regard consultancy or bureaucracy as good jobs.
Also, the more focus you put on credentials, the less of an independent person you are. Elites are mostly parasites who spend 60 year careers hiding incompetence with their credentials. It is only practice, not classroom teaching, that builds skill and allows for innovation.
The most credentialed person I've known (star-studded CV with PhD and huge LinkedIn network) was also the biggest slave I've seen: eternally afraid of burning bridges, forcing himself to hang out with people he didn't like, and most importantly, didn't have any opinions or his own and was *proud* of being able to agree with people about everything.
Unfortunately most in Asia don't see this and China and Korea continue to stuff children into classrooms 14 hours a day learning how to swallow and vomit out words on a page without understanding their meaning.
If you're from North Korea and getting a degree overseas you're bourgeois.
In Bern, they have handlers and strict regimens. It's an expensive commitment for them.
